Great job, and price couldn't be beat.

Jeff and his crew were respectful of our property. Estimate came very close to final bill. Always kept us informed of delays or additional materials needed. The roof and a front porch addition over concrete steps came out beautiful. Jeff knows what he is doing and advises a homeowner appropriately. Will recommend to others and will call again for the next project.

Quick to respond to my inquiry. Quick to start the job. Quick to take my money. Project moved along fine until I stopped writing checks 85% of the way through the quote and maybe 25% of the way through the work. A 6 week project for 25K turned into 16 week project for 32K. We would go for up to a week without hearing from Jeff, in spite of multiple emails and voicemails over the course of that week. And there was nothing final about the final product; we are still painting trim, touching up spots that were primed but not painted, rehanging doors... Generally speaking, the entire experience was frustrating and anxiety-inducing. Organization, communication, and attention to detail all sorely lacking.

If you are thinking about hiring this company for any thing other than roofing, a deck, or other small job, DONT. Like with any major project hire, I would recommend that you ask him for the contact details of the last 5 similar jobs he has done. Not 5 references, THE LAST 5 SIMILAR PROJECTS. You wont get them but you should ask and I guarantee you wont get my name. I was the Designer / Engineer / GC on this project so I was able to keep a pretty close eye on the project. As we got into the project and I got to know Jeff and his team it was clear I had made a mistake in my hiring choice. I did not take my own advice and check references. I solely relied on the home advisor reviews which looked great, but only showed small projects. Jeff has real issues with the truth and his idea of good enough does not mesh with mine. His team on the other hand were all pretty good, hard working guys when they were not being held back or being told to do things wrong. But it was hard for them to stay positive given the working enviornment. After the first few weeks I realized a full 15% of the time spent was spent fixing mistakes. I would give him clear instructions on how something needed to be assembled or aligned, he would ignore the instructions and screw it up. Then we would spend the same amount of time again fixing the resulting issue. Often I found myself just going back and fixing things after he left. This happened a lot. I had a Time and Materials agreement with Jeff so I did have some level of control, but I always felt like he was milking the job for as long as possible. Jeffs idea of productivity was, at times, to have his entire team watching him do something. Some times I think he thought he was running a high school building trades class. On the other hand I shudder to think what would have happened if it was a fixed bid job given what I learned about his other projects. I was really hesitant to leave this review but in the end I really dont want anyone else to fall into the same problem. So to make a long story short, if you are in to lies, drama, and shoddy workmanship, this is your guy.

The company is great and very cooperative about everything.The fellows did a wonderful job and the garage roof looks fantastic.All went well and we are very happy .

If you need a contractor for a big build, you better not hire Jeff. He is an absolute liar and con artist. I hired Jeff in early June to build an attached garage and mudroom to my existing house. Was told he needed a filler job before he started another house and could build my garage in a month. In November, it still was not done! No garage cement floor poured. No garage doors or openers. Caught him not putting underlayment under shingles on my roof and his excuse. These shingles are made to be put directly on plywood. Wow! No house in America has asphalt shingles without underlayment! Did not back fill the dirt on a cement foundation and I had to rent an excavator and do it myself before the ground froze! Many other items he either skimped on to save money and always had an excuse as to why he could not show up on time for weeks. Bottom line. He uses your money to finish other jobs he s taken and then doe not have enough money to finish yours. How do I know that? I had the cement foundation foreman show up at my house looking for $500 from pouring that Jeff lied him on in June. All in all, he took 2/3rds of my money and I have not heard back from him since. Look out for this guy! Buyer beware!

Jeff and his guys did a good job on my drip piece too of my siding, when others wouldn't do small jobs

Jeff followed up with a phone call right after my inquiry. The skylight was leaking with water coming into the tenants apartment. He responded immediately, went to the site, evaluated the job and then the next day brought his crew over to put in a new skylight reframe the roof and re-shingled where needed. I would highly recommend Jeff and Berryhill Construction and intend to use them in the future.

Jeff called back within 15 minutes of my request for an emergency roof repair. He and his foreman arrived a few hours later in a pouring rain storm and patched the roof preventing any further damage. The next morning a crew arrived and permanently repaired the damage and were all wrapped up by 11:00AM. I highly recommend Berry Hill Construction for fast, reliable quality work at a fair and affordable price. Thanks Jeff for a job well done.

I called Berry Hill and Jeff, the owner, called, quickly made an appointment, and came to meet me for an estimate. The estimate, out of the 5 I obtained, was the most comprehensive. 2 others were less but required me to do extensive work and or actually purchase products that they would then install, for additional money. The 2 lower estimated, when figured totally, actually cost more than Berry Hill’s. In addition, Jeff answered every one of my rather detailed questions to my total satisfaction. The work was done so well that I hired them for other projects, will continue to do so in the future and have referred them to my friends.

We had major water damage from a pipe burst resulting in two stories of our home requiring extensive repairs. Jeff came to our rescue promising to deliver in our tight timeline understanding this was an income property for us and the house being out of commission severely impacted our business. They were friendly, professional, on time, on budget and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Having them return this Fall for some more roof and decking upgrades. I highly recommend Jeff and his crew.

Homeowner beware! Most of his "glowing" reviews are from roof jobs. My deck did not pass the town inspections due to violations in the building code. I had to hire someone else to fix the critical issues. Not a case of sour apples here, just verifiable facts.
