"We had 3 separate crews (windows, sidings and gutters). All 3 great, started work as soon as they arrived at 8 AM and did not stop until either the job was done or it was quitting time (which in the case of the siding crew was well past 5:00. Everything was completed in the time fram e we were given, and the house looks incredible. I am currently consider a move, and if my new house needs any work, I will definitely call Clear Choice."

"The crew that was sent over to do the job were very professional. I went out to watch them work a couple of times and that's just what they did. No one was on their phones and there was no fooling around. They had a job to do and that was exactly what they were doing. I would recommend Long Roofing to anyone who needs to have a roof replaced. "Doug is an excellent person to work with, and I would definitely call him in the future and recommend him to others. He did a great job fixing a major deck issue that we had. We had been in contact for several months leading up to the actual repairs. He recommended pooring a cement foundation to act as a structural support and it's worked out great. Doug is a total professional, and very easy to work with."

"Very happy with the process and outcome. The project started and ended on the two week estimate. They promised that the crew will be dedicated to my project and would not be delayed by taking them away to start or end another project and they were true to their word. I canâ  t comment on the price because I did not get any other estimates. If you are looking for a company to do your siding project, make sure you get an estimate from Capital Construction."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Vinyl siding is the cheapest option in terms of upfront costs. The average cost to install vinyl siding is around $12,173, with certain types like vinyl shake, clapboard, or dutch lap costing as little as $2 to $3 per square foot. While vinyl is very low-cost, it may not last as long as natural materials or metal, with a typical lifespan of 20 to 40 years. In contrast, metal siding is more expensive initially but can save you money in the long run due to its longer lifespan, which is often double that of vinyl. It's recommended to consult a siding professional to determine if the lowest-cost option is the best material for your specific home.

Cracked mortar, loose bricks, water damage, and efflorescence (white powdery deposits) are common problems.

Yes, you can install siding over stucco, but it's crucial to ensure the stucco is in good condition first. Before proceeding, inspect the stucco for any signs of damage, leaks, or mold growth. If you discover water damage, mold, or have ongoing leak issues, it's recommended to remove the stucco completely. This step prevents future problems like mold and pest infestations and allows a professional to repair or replace any damaged sheathing underneath. If the stucco is sound, the installation process involves attaching furring strips to the wall's framing directly through the stucco. The new siding is then installed onto these furring strips. A professional may also need to adjust window and door openings to prevent them from being recessed behind the new siding, which can cause aesthetic issues and create potential leak points.

Concrete log siding is not the same as fiber cement siding. Fiber cement siding is made from a mixture of cement and cellulose fibers, while GFRC is made from cement, glass fibers, and polymers. The materials are similar in their durability, longevity, and curb appeal, and the main difference is that concrete log siding is available in more styles that resemble traditional log siding. Fiber cement is also less expensive, with materials costing around half what you’d pay for concrete log siding.

The average cost to install stucco siding on a home is around $5,700, with most homeowners paying between $2,200 and $9,100. However, the total cost can range from $750 to as high as $22,750 depending on several factors. On average, you can expect to pay between $7 and $9 per square foot. Key cost factors include the size and complexity of your home, the desired color and texture, labor and material costs in your area, and whether you have a multi-story home. Specific applications have different costs, such as adding stucco over brick ($7 per square foot) or over wood siding ($8.50 per square foot). To save money, you can consider removing the old siding yourself or scheduling the installation during the off-season.
