"It can be difficult to find a contractor to complete the taping and mud work on a project where the drywall is already hung. This company came in and completed the work in record time to my satisfaction. The work is excellent, the priming done well. Would recommend this contractor to anyone with similar work."

"Used Overwall Painting to paint the entire exterior of my house. Their pricing was very competitive, the work is top quality, the job was completed quickly and the people were very easy to deal with. Jeff (the owner) was easy to contact, replied promptly to any calls/texts and resolved any question or concerns. Doug and Braga (the painters) were very friendly, courteous and respectful of property. They put in some long days to complete the job. It was nice to get to know them a little bit while they were here. We are very pleased with the way the house now looks. We will be hiring Overwall again in the future to do some interior work. Thanks for a job well done."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Options include bricks, natural stone, and concrete blocks. Choose based on durability, aesthetics, and budget.

Plaster itself has a higher R-value than drywall. However, there are other considerations surrounding plaster and insulation. As a general rule, it's easier to obtain consistency in insulating value and quality when working with drywall rather than plaster. Plaster walls often don't contain any insulation behind the wall covering by design, and careful evaluation is necessary when choosing to add it.

Through expert matching of texture and paint for an invisible repair.

While not always necessary, you can glue a drywall ceiling in addition to using screws or nails. Drywall is typically secured to ceiling joists with fasteners, which is often sufficient. However, adding construction adhesive can offer benefits like preventing sagging, bridging gaps, and reducing air leaks for better energy efficiency. It may also be used for specific acoustic or insulation needs. On the other hand, many professionals advise against it because properly placed screws make the drywall structural, glue doesn't add strength, and it makes future repairs or replacements significantly more difficult. Ultimately, it's best to follow local building codes and project-specific requirements to decide if adhesive is right for your ceiling.

Plaster ceilings can sag for several reasons. In some cases, the plaster and other building materials shift and come apart over time, which is why you’ll commonly find drooping plaster ceilings in older homes. Improper installation, foot traffic, and water damage—often from a leaky roof or a broken pipe—can also cause plaster ceilings to sag.
