"Wet Basement Solutions sealed the walls of our basement and installed a sump pump about three years ago. As of today, 5/2/23, our area has experienced a great deal of rain, which would have caused our basement to flood in previous years. Since WBS did their work for us, our basement has remained perfectly dry. My husband and I have been singing their praises for the last few days!"

You can tell, and see it, that he is very conscientious and meticulous about his work and what he does and it appears that he is doing it as if it was his own (shower). Inland Building is a two man operation. We bring in subcontracted help as the size of the job requires. We charge out at 45.00 dollars per hour and normally like to work on a time and materials basis. Materials and subcontractors provided by us are marked up 20% for profit and overhead costs. We are fully insured and stand behind our work.

The heat loss through a poorly insulated attic when you’re running your furnace or heat pump during cold weather can be as high as 25%. This means you could see significantly higher energy costs to make up for this heat loss. The cost of adding insulation to the attic may eventually pay for itself through lower energy bills. If you decide to add a radiant barrier too, the radiant barrier cost may also pay for itself over time.

Asphalt roofs provide better insulation than metal roofs, but that doesn’t always mean that asphalt roofs are better for reducing heating and cooling bills. In hotter climates, metal roofs will usually be better for home efficiency because the material reflects more sunlight and reduces solar heat gain. In colder climates, asphalt roofs are sometimes superior in terms of efficiency because they introduce more solar heat gain to your home and have greater insulating capabilities. However, metal roofs installed with an air gap can provide similar levels of insulation.

While you should always insulate ceilings and exterior walls, you don’t always have to insulate the interior walls of your home to maintain energy efficiency. However, there are benefits to insulating every wall, including improved soundproofing and energy efficiency throughout your home.

The primary reason that insulation saves you money over time is that it reduces your energy bills by making your home more energy efficient. A crucial part of an insulation system is a properly installed vapor barrier. Local building codes dictate whether your insulation requires a vapor barrier based on the type installed. While some high-quality wool insulation may not technically need a vapor barrier, most municipalities still require one to meet code.

At a minimum, blown-in insulation lasts 20 to 30 years. Cellulose and sheep’s wool come from natural materials, so they likely max out at around 30 years. Fiberglass and rockwool feature artificial materials that boast lengthy lifespans, up to 50 years, or even longer in some cases. As always, this timeline assumes you don’t run into any issues, such as flooding or mold, that shorten the lifespan.
