"I was most impressed with the cost. The work was good, nothing special but everything was done properly and looks good after some adjustments. Very responsive project manager !"

"Appointment  to review  various needed repairs was made within a reasonable amount of time. Contractor did show up and was on time at the time of the appointment. (This is why I gave them the overall C rating)...... Now to the disappointing part.... When leaving, contractor said he would get back to me within a few days with estimate. A week went by with no estimate received  from contractor. I called contractor again and was told he would have estimate for me by the next day.. It is now a week later and still no estimate has been received. Based on their previous good reviews, which was what lead me to call then in the first place, they are probably good at what they do and may have done the repairs at a reasonable price, however, I didn't get a chance to find out as I  was never supplied an estimate. Disappointing because I took time away from work to meet with the contractor, which turns out was a waste of time for both of us. Wont bother calling them back because if I cant rely on them to get back to me with an estimate, how can I trust that they will complete the work needed in a timely manner?

"The designers were very nice.  However, they only recommended/carried a litmit number of suppliers - few of which were in Indy.  The suppliers they carreid were also very expensive.  Even though I sent pictures, I found that I needed a designer that could come to the house and help find local suppliers for paints and material."

"Excellent - I ended up hiring someone to help with shopping and finishing piece - waste of time and money. Jill's service was by far the most useful and best value in my decorating process.

Unfinished Carpentry questions, answered by experts

Joists do distribute their load to beams, but they don’t sit on top of the beams. Instead, home builders nail or screw the joists directly to the beams such that the end of the joist butts up against the edge of the beam. Beams can sit on other beams for support, but you’ll never see a joist sitting on top of a beam or another joist.

Building involves setting foundation posts, framing with durable wood, adding roofing support, and protecting from elements with water-resistant finishes.

A-frame homes are on the smaller side. While there’s no set square footage amount it has to be, it will usually come in around 1,000 square feet or smaller.

You should avoid drilling or cutting into load-bearing beams because removing material will weaken it and increase the risk of structural damage or even collapse. If you do need to drill into a load-bearing beam, speak with a structural engineer first to discuss where it’s safest to drill and the width and depth of the bit that’s safe to use.

Yes, professional installations include reinforced corner posts to ensure durability.
