"Rosendo answered my email inquiry in less than 24 hours. He was prompt with his estimate and listened well to what we wanted done. He told us he would call before he showed up. He called on Saturday and showed up exactly when he said he would on Monday morning. It was just over a week from the time I first contacted him! By Wednesday afternoon he and his crew were done. They had taken out a cement slab and poured a new reinforced 20 ft x 40 ft reinforced slab. They even leveled the ground and moved the dirt to where we wanted it in the yard, leaving it smooth enough to seed. The sidewalk they installed needed to go from the house to a fire pit and to an out building. It also had to look nice because it ended at the apartment door for our mother which is in the walk-out basement.  The sidewalk takes just the right winding route to look especially good, like it was meant to be an entry way to a home. The ground around all the cement was cleaned up and made even with it.  Then, we asked him to bring in some rock to fill in the driveway and they did that.  When the cement was drying, the nights were cold. Each night following the pour, they left the cement covered. They even ground out a couple of tree stumps to give the area a finished look.  When he and his crew were done, everything was cleaned up. We are extremely pleased with the quality, price and professionalism of P&R Concrete.

Fire Pit Installation questions, answered by experts

Once your ashes have fully cooled, you can place them in a heavy-duty trash bag and put them into the bin with your normal trash. If you have wood ash, you can add the ash to your composting pile or sprinkle it over your grass or plants directly for added nutrients.

Most installations take 1-3 days, depending on system complexity and building size.

While a hot fire can help heat up and loosen tar within your chimney, making it a recommended step before using a creosote log, it will not burn off significant existing buildup on its own. Attempting to remove built-up creosote with a hot fire is dangerous and can cause a chimney fire. For safe and effective removal of caked-on creosote, the best approach is to hire a professional chimney sweep.

If a light switch is off, it’s very unlikely to cause a fire. For a fire to start, the switch has to be on, activating an electrical current, and the wiring must be faulty. However, the malfunctioning light switch could cause an intermittent current to move across the electrical wire. This issue could become a fire hazard with another device connected to the wire. You should replace the bad light switch as soon as you notice it or call an electrician.

A chimney liner isn’t required for an outdoor fireplace; you don’t technically need one if the masonry chimney uses the proper dimensions and is built to code. However, a chimney liner does serve as a protective coating for the flue. Adding a liner could improve performance, safety, and durability. In short, while not necessary, it wouldn’t hurt.
