Small jobs welcome

"Mike Smith was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. His assistant (Steve) was not so. His workday started whenever he got out of his truck and he walked out at 4:00 with no prior notice to Mike. This left Mike to clean things up and apologize for Steve. Also I was surprised that no supervisor checked on the work even though the work lasted all week."

"Mark and his team did a fantastic job cleaning up a lot of leaves in my yard. They were quick and professional. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone needing a cleanup of their yard done."

"I had such a great experience with anointed power ; they first painted the interior of our house, and we then had them do the exterior as well. They did a beautiful job and were very conscientious about cleaning up every day, (which I really appreciated after having past painters who did not clean up). They were professional, courteous, and made me feel comfortable when I had questions. I would highly recommend Donald's Company!! I am for sure going to spread how good this company did to anyone I know needing paint work done!! Thank you Anointed Power!!"

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

Yes, you must use an extension cord specifically rated for outdoor use to power outdoor lights, such as Christmas lights. Extension cords intended for indoor use lack the protective properties to withstand exposure to outdoor elements. To safely hang and power lights outside your house or in your yard, always connect them to an outdoor power source using an outdoor-rated extension cord.

When it comes to bang for your buck, LED lights are the clear winner for Christmas lights. While these will cost more upfront, they’ll last you for many holidays to come—far longer than your basic halogen bulbs. Along with that, they also save you big on energy costs throughout the season.

If you need to visually inspect your Christmas lights to determine which are good and which need replacement, there are a few things to look for. First, look for discoloration, such as a dark spot or two on the inside of the glass. The spot is an indication of a burnt filament. Also, look for missing filaments, cracked bulb glass, and broken sockets.

Professionals use the same methods found in this guide unless they’re decorating a particularly large Christmas tree. In that case, they may also make use of tools like extension poles to get the job done.

Repairing a strand of Christmas lights will save you a few dollars and the hassle of going to the store to purchase new ones. That may or may not be enough to make fixing them worth it to you. However, if the lights are already hanging or around the tree, removing and replacing them is far more time-consuming than performing a quick repair job.
