"Terrible. he never finished any of the work except the tile floor which was unlevel. I paid him nearly 2000.00 for labor only and he never did the work. He ran my electric bill up to over 500.00 for one month alone. he moved boxes and boxes of his stuff into my garage. He sent me text messages of his past due bills and utility shut off notices, threatening me to get me to send more money. I had to drive 8 hours to get him out of my house so I could get someone else to finish the job. I spent 5 days cleaning up his mess, and it took almost a month to get him to come remove his stuff from my garage. I have never met anyone so unprofessional in my life. he even told me I should have to give him a commission when my house was sold! glad it is over and I never have to deal with him again."

Waste Removal Services questions, answered by experts

Soda, coffee, and other soft drinks are highly acidic. This affects the pH in septic tanks, causing them to require more frequent pumping. However, a vast majority of people don't need to worry about septic system disruption. Pouring out the occasional flat soda doesn’t affect septic systems to the same degree as the high-volume dumping from restaurants and convenience stores.

You should never pour antifreeze down the drain or outside on the ground. Because it's highly toxic, antifreeze can still impact people and animals long after it drains. Antifreeze can contaminate water and sewage systems, and any that gets into storm drains and water supplies can attract animals and harm those that ingest it.

Vinegar has become popular because it’s wallet-friendly, easy to find, and sounds like a great alternative to harsh chemicals and expensive machinery. However, vinegar isn’t strong enough to remove concrete sealant. Sealants can resist acid, and vinegar is a much weaker acid than chemical removal agents. And worse, vinegar can damage concrete by dulling it and causing pitting.

Depending on your location, you can bring items to your local dump. It’s important to check their guidelines on what they accept, as not all dumps will take all items.

In addition, renting a dumpster is an option in most areas. Renting a dumpster will cost around $400 for a week, including the cost of hauling it away. However, it does not include labor to lift heavy items into the dumpster. If you have very large or heavy items, chemicals, or other items that you cannot bring to your local dump, contact a junk hauling company.

There are several instances where household biohazard cleanup would be needed. All in all, anytime an event can potentially expose people to chemicals, pathogens, or viruses, a biohazard cleanup company must be called. These events can include:

  • Sewage backup

  • Unattended death or crime scene after death

  • Virus decontamination

  • Medical waste disposal

  • Animal waste disposal

  • Odor control

  • Hazardous chemical removal
