You can paint PVC baseboards. Lightly sand the surface to help the paint adhere, then apply a primer designed for plastics. Use high-quality latex paint for a smooth finish, and ensure the baseboards are clean and dry before starting for best results.

Sanding a wood floor can be a lot of work, especially if the room is large. However, if you skip this step, the paint might not stick properly to the floor. Over time, your paint can peel or chip.
