Customers say: Quick response

"The garage they built was great. The problem I have is he didnt replace the windows that didnt work like he said he would. The sub contractor for the cement that was layered isnt good. I did a whole driveway and and a slab from my door of the house. It is all cracking, pitting and Disintegrating. Ive been trying to call, text and email with no response back for the last year. He claimed he would fix it all. Im disappointed with the promise of fixing it all. I would really like to have this fixed."

"Derek created two bedrooms out of one large bedroom. From framing to drywall to creating closets to all the trim work. Hired him to also finish off a lower level recreation room. Also added closet and full bathroom. Did all the framing and drywall. All the trim work. Found his work exceptional so hired Derek to remodel our master bathroom and 2nd bathroom. Outstanding work! Very pleased! Would highly recommend Derek Hansen for any remodeling work or custom work that needs to be done."

Modular and Mobile Home Remodel questions, answered by experts

No, you should not run two refrigerators on the same circuit as it is likely to overload the circuit and cause the breaker to trip or worse—cause an electrical fire. Each standard-size refrigerator should be on a dedicated 20-amp circuit. You should never plug a refrigerator into an extension cord or power strip as it can cause serious safety hazards. Refrigerators have built-in surge protection that safeguards them from the damage of power surges.

To get utilities set up on a property, you first have to contact the local department of planning to determine whether your property is able to connect to public utilities. From there, you can work with a structural engineer and/or a building contractor to design the layout of utility lines on the property. The pros will need this information as they begin securing building permits before they can start adding lines.

If your property isn’t able to connect to public utilities, you’ll need to consider working with pros to develop a comfortable off-grid home that will meet your needs.

First and foremost, you should consider whether you have the time and money to add a room to your home. Additions can be costly, especially if you hire a general contractor, so it helps to make a realistic budget.

If you decide to tackle the project yourself, just make sure you have the time and resources to finish it. Other factors for consideration include the type of room you want to add, how much that room will contribute to your home's resale value, and how much you're willing to spend on details like various finishes and materials.

Tipping an electrician is not a requirement nor is it expected, as they build a fair wage into the price of the job. It’s up to your discretion. There are no set rules for tipping electricians, but if they did a great job and you’re so inclined to tip 10% to 15%, it will likely be received with thanks.

Costs depend on property size, network complexity, and labor rates.
