"The day after they put in the drain tile system it stormed out. Lots of water and watched the system work where the water went into the new sump pump basin. No water seepage came into the basement. I highly recommend them"

"I hired this company to fix a foundation crack that had been haunting me for a few years. They arrived as planned, fixed the crack, cleaned up the mess and was very efficient. I could not have asked for a more professional service. I have not have one bit of trouble since this issue was fixed. Now I do not have to worry about water slowly leaking into my basement when it rains or in the spring when the snow melts and the ground thaws out. I give their name to everyone who asks if I know of someone to fix their basement crack etc. I would hire this company back in a heartbeat !! What I appreciated is that they did not make me believe I was going to have a $10,000 repair to drain my pocket book. They were honest and upfront. Told me what they can do to fix it and the cost. It was worth every penny for the piece of mind I have now. Thank you Innovative Basement Systems! I can rest well now knowing my basement is fixed and doing fine."

"Set up security cameras outside. He repaired a leaky bathroom sink drain. He put in proper outlets in my kitchen and disconnected the sink disposal unit. He has a good work ethic and finished work in a timely fashion."

"Stacked Plumbing has lead our building renovations to a commercial building that will serve home to my current business (Crossfit Tundra) and new business venture (Grand Forks Sports Academy). When I met Bill, I explained my vision and from there the stacked plumbing took crew took over. They are knowledgeable, passionate about their craft and best of all accountable. They have shown as much passion for these renovations as I do about my vision. I can go on and on about how grateful I am about the Bill and his team. I will keep it short, you want something done, you want someone to show up when they say they will and will go the extra length to see your project complete, look no further than Stacked Plumbing."

French Drains questions, answered by experts

There are several common signs that your main sewer line may be clogged. Key indicators include multiple fixtures in your home draining slowly, gurgling sounds coming from drains or toilets, and water backing up into showers, sinks, or toilets. You might also notice water backing up from the plumbing system's drain cleanout, water in your basement drain, or unexplained wet patches on your lawn. Foul odors, such as the smell of raw sewage or rotten eggs, are another common symptom. The most reliable way to confirm a main sewer line clog is to hire a professional plumber to perform a camera inspection.

Regardless of the drain cleaner type you choose to use, they all work through chemical reactions that create heat. Thanks to the heat, the clogged hair begins to dissolve until it is able to be flushed away. To avoid clogs in your drain due to hair, use hair catchers and empty them out after every shower.

Air gaps get clogged by a few different means. Over time, food and grime can collect in the air gap, leading to a blockage. Mineral deposits from hard water are a common problem. Mineral buildup creates a film in the air gap and tubing, which can cause flow issues, as well as attract debris. Homeowners with hard water may want to remove mineral deposits regularly to keep the air gap clean and clear.

If you've discovered a rather frightening buildup of brown and black gunk below your shower cover, you're not alone. The smelly sludge is often a collection of mildew and biofilm. Biofilm comes from the breakdown of soap scum, hair, skin cells, and bacteria that collects during shower time. It's quite common in a humid space and relatively easy to clean with a gentle DIY cleaning solution such as baking soda and vinegar.

First, find the cleanout pipe in your yard. Unscrew the cap—you may need a wrench to do so. Then, get a drain snake. You can use a non-motorized one, but a motorized snake will make the job a little easier. Feed the snake through the pipe until it reaches the clog. Spin the snake continuously, but don’t try to feed it through the pipe anymore. Keep spinning until you feel it break the clog apart.
