"I hired him to do some drywall and he offered to do some extra work as well. Not only was he super professional, but he got the work done sooner than he'd projected. Patching and replacing drywall. He also installed a few coded door locks free of charge. I received a great price when it was all said and done of $1500. Which was great, because other contractors had quoted me at around $2200-$2500. Will definitely be using his services in the future."

Waste Removal Services questions, answered by experts

To drain a broken toilet, place towels or plastic sheeting around the base in case of splashing or overflowing. Next, shut off the toilet’s water supply, usually via a valve on the wall behind the toilet. Begin flushing the handle to remove as much water as possible from the tank and the bowl. Don’t flush the toilet if it’s clogged, though. From there, use a large sponge to soak up any remaining water and wring it over a bucket.

Who is responsible for construction debris removal depends on the language in the construction contract. Usually, the contractor is responsible for removal rather than the homeowner. However, removal and disposal tend to come with additional fees that should be listed as line items in the initial estimate. This way, the homeowner can negotiate and decide whether or not to DIY.

Removing old gutters costs $1 to $2 per linear foot when you hire a professional gutter company to do the work. You may also have to pay between $150 and $350 to dispose of the debris. If you have aluminum or steel gutters, you can recoup some of the removal cost by selling the material to a recycler or a scrap metal collector.

DIY is possible for small amounts of waste. Professional services handle larger volumes efficiently.

Most junk removal services don’t take hazardous materials, including paint, gasoline, bleach, and other chemicals. When gathering quotes, ask the company about its specific restrictions.
