When I had him do lighting work for me, he took the money and never completed the work. He disappeared for months, swore to send me a check for reimbursement for the work that was paid for and then disappeared. He never provided written quotes or receipts for work, and requested payment be made in cash. Avoid at all costs."

You can hire a local mold testing company to run the test for you, giving you a sure answer. A post-drywall inspection could uncover many problems that weren’t present during the pre-drywall inspection, including insufficient insulation, missing weather stripping, improperly installed plumbing and lighting fixtures, flooring damage, drywall damage, plumbing leaks, aesthetic issues, and more. You can also do a DIY test using an incense stick or smoke pencil. With the HVAC system running, pass the stick or pencil across the ductwork. Pay attention to the movement of the smoke. When you notice it changing, it could be a sign there’s a leak or bad connection in the duct.

At a minimum, landlords typically perform an apartment home inspection before tenants move in and after they move out. Most lease agreements include a “right to entry” clause allowing for “inspection by the landlord.” They do this to check for damage, identify repairs and maintenance needs, and ensure tenants are following property rules.
