"My husband and I hired him in May 2021 to paint the 900 sf interior and install two overhead fluorescent fixtures and one vanity light of a condominium in Kure Beach we had just purchased. He bid $2700, we needed the work done so we could get up and running for rental season. Had to pay him half up front to get him to start work. We supplied the paint and the fixtures. He and his “crew“ did not show up on time, and did not come back on the days promised when they were coming to finish. We were not in town the whole time (closing on the house we were selling). He then insisted that we pay before they got back to check his work (“I need to pay my crew. I’m sending photos”). They left strips and pieces unpainted, left sheet rock dust and paint spatters all over the floors, evidently have no idea how to use wall anchors and made holes in the ceiling and wall sheet rock we had to later repair and clean up, and the light fixtures were not secured. When we took them down to reattach them we discovered he had not attached the ground wires. We allowed him to use an upright vacuum to clean up sheet rock dust, etc (he didn’t have a shop vac); they stole the vacuum and did not clean up the sheet rock dust. Made a mess of the condo right before rental season started and our 60 and 70 year old selves had to clean up his mess. Dopesmoking scammer. Very sorry we hired him via Thumbtack, we all should have checked his references better (if he has any; dude doesn’t even own a work truck. He rented one from Enterprise). Evidently he’s ruined his reputation in Jacksonville North Carolina, where he lives, and in Greenville, so he’s taking jobs in other areas."
