"These guys did an outstanding job of fixing the flood damage we had from Hurricane Helene. A ditch line that runs the length of our property was seriously eroded which resulted in our driveway and yard becoming unstable. These guys came in an took on an extremely difficult assignment and stabilized our property. To be honest we were unsure that the yard could ever be fixed. But they definitely got the job done. They worked tirelessly and treated our home and property like they were doing the job for themselves. They never took a break and completed an almost impossible task in short time frame. There is no way I could give these guys a stronger positive recommendation for the work that they accomplished. I will never use anyone else to do a task like this in the future. The only issue is that they are in high demand, and we had to wait 9 months for them to get an open appointment to get the work done. But in the end, it was well worth the wait!"

"Extremely thorough and professional. They went above and beyond what I asked for in cleaning up overgrown flower beds, trimming trees, bushes, and mulching. The cost was reasonable and I would recommend them 100%."

Retaining Wall Installers questions, answered by experts

The longevity of flood walls depends on how they were constructed, but most wood, gravel, and cement flood walls last 10 years. While aluminum flood walls may cost far more initially, they can be a good investment as they can last decades and will not be damaged by exposure to the elements.

Generally speaking, a retaining wall should be between 3 and 4 feet high, depending on variables such as the wall-building material, the purpose of the retaining wall, and more. If you want your retaining wall to be taller than 4 feet, check with your local building ordinance office for the maximum allotment. You may also need a special permit for retaining walls over 4 feet tall.

Rebar is a steel support that goes inside concrete to prevent structural damage over time. Concrete is susceptible to impact, weight, and tension. By inserting rebar into the concrete during the installation, you can help extend its lifespan and avoid hazardous situations where the foundation of your home gives way to tensile forces.

Most railroad tie retaining walls have a life span of 20 to 30 years, though you may need to replace your wall sooner if it’s repeatedly exposed to heavy rain, runoff, and excess moisture. Railroad ties are typically treated with creosote, which makes them much more durable than untreated wood. Though they last longer, they don’t last forever. For the most longevity, make sure your retaining wall has a sturdy base and steel reinforcements. You should also install drainage to direct water away from the wall.

Yes, to build a retaining wall, a permit is required. Similarly, any repairs or modifications to an existing retaining wall require permits. If the planned wall measures higher than 4 feet, most municipalities require designs and permits come through a licensed engineer. In some locations, if the wall is shorter than 4 feet, a permit may not be required. For the requirements in your area, contact your local government.
