High quality landscaping business serving the triangle and surrounding counties. We specialize in grading, sod, lawn renovations, hardscapes, and just about any service you need to keep your property looking the best. We are keen to detail and enforce quality on every job, big or small. Let us make your property the best in the area.

"Owner isn’t going to complete project. Supposed to be complete mid July. Now mid September. Quality of work that is complete is excellent. Problem is nothing is 100% complete and now fence is not being considered. Owner has left equipment and tools around the job site and property obstructing property owners view and maintenance of the property"

Jofmar Landscape Hardscape & Lawn Maintenance is family owned and operated right here in Durham, NC. Since our company opened its doors in 2007, we’ve treated every customer like they were a part of our family. Other companies may offer similar services, but our services are the best, and come with a personal touch.

"I'll start by saying that Jofmar (Jose and team) delivered well beyond my expectations. I reached out to Jofmar with a few large hardscape projects after long effort to try and find someone that was professional, on time and and cared to do the work. Overall my experience was very pleasant. Victoria graciously helped me with estimates, explained the process well to understand what is involved for each project and then Jose and his team delivered on the product. The first of two projects just finished up -I had stacked stone garden walls built around all my mulched beds. The attention to detail was a delight to see and I can't wait to finally refresh my garden beds. I want to call out that Jose and team really love the work that they do and it shows. They work hard and are easy to talk to throughout projects. They are agile and will work with you if there is a change in scope. I still have a second project waiting on materials and can't wait to see how well they do there as well. I'll be using Jofmar for any work I need in the future and if I could put them on retainer, I would. Attached are some shots of the work they did for my garden walls."

"For an individual with minimal know-how and physical and mental stamina for yard work, Pleasant Green is an investment that produces valuable dividends. Steve and Wyatt have been punctual, friendly, kind, efficient, and encouraging. Scott is patient with my ignorance; Pleasant Green provides excellent service plus an education! Charlene is a cheerful and efficient on-line presence. I believe my grass is becoming happier too. Thanks to Everyone at Pleasant Green."

Rototilling questions, answered by experts

For minor unevenness, you don't necessarily need to remove grass before leveling. You can apply a topdressing mixture to fill in low areas and even out the surface. However, for more significant unevenness or deep depressions, it might be necessary to temporarily remove the grass to ensure proper leveling and soil compaction. After filling and leveling, you can replace the grass or consider reseeding the area.

Ensures proper drainage and ground stability, preventing soil erosion and foundation issues.

Yes, you can rent a rototiller for around $60 per day and do the work yourself, but it’s not recommended. Tilling is more of an art than a science, as tilling too deep can be detrimental to your soil structure and the organic matter that is beneficial to plants and shrubs, and tilling too shallow won’t properly introduce fertilizer or break up the soil for rooting plants. Additionally, tillers are powerful machines with sharp blades to cut through small roots and soil, so they are inherently dangerous to use. It’s usually worth it to hire a professional rototiller.

People level their yards for practical and cosmetic purposes. If you have a very steep slope in your backyard, you might have a hard time with lawn maintenance. Or, if you want to entertain in the summer but don’t have a flat yard, building a patio would be quite difficult.

Pros will assess your soil type, property geography, and rain patterns for optimal slope.
