"Wonderful, it was a very quick and easy process. Brian talked us through it and in no time we had a 3KW system mounted on a frame in the garden and the invertor installed in the basement. Brian talked us through working with our power company to get the system checked and approved and we now get credits from the power company for power we provide to the grid. In addition we are set up to get Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) payments for providing clean energy. We also got a free Energy Audit which helped locate some problems areas we were able to fix. The system has basically cut our energy costs in half. I have hesitation in recommending them to anyone interested in solar energy."

"Vendor install a Honeywell 7200 series thermostat in my new home, but I decided to upgrade to a 6580 WiFi unit. I did all the work myself but couldn't get the A/C to work. I called Honey well who referrred me to Enhanced Heating and A/C. I called them at 3:45 PM on a Friday afternoon and got a live person who said someone will call me back after I presented the problem I had. Around 4 PM I got a call from Sean who helped me out with the wiring and the A/C is now working."

"The entire process from the inspectors availability to receiving the report was conducted in a professional manner. After the inspection was complete the inspector took the time to review his findings by explaining concerns and show me areas in my new home that needed to be addressed by the builder. The inspector also provided a copy of the report to both myself and the builder to allow time for concerns to be addressed by the builder or submitted to the warranty department. His findings provided me with assurance that my family is living in a safely constructed home and is saving me money in the future by addressing concerns that may later be costly. Thank You!"

"James professionally performed what was a tough install in my 3.200 sq. foot home, running over 500 feet of quality cable to the Center, Front, Surround and rear surround speakers as well as 2 powered sub-woofers through a tiny crawl space. Not a thing was left out of place or dusty. James and his team personally came back to ensure proper operation a few days later. I will be hiring Complete Automated Technology for future wiring/home-automation needs (wants). I couldn't be happier."

Energy Efficiency Auditing questions, answered by experts

It’s not recommended to turn off your breaker box in hopes of saving electricity. Breaker boxes were not designed to constantly be switched on and off. Therefore, turning off breakers unnecessarily can cause costly damage that outnumbers any energy savings. Only flip your breakers if absolutely necessary when troubleshooting an electrical issue.

Dryers are designed to use as little electricity as possible, but power is still required to run the motor that turns the drum and to heat an element that pumps hot air. Eco devices are available and may lead to cost savings in the long term, but you should run the figures before committing to an eco-friendly device as they are often much more expensive to purchase.

Blower door tests are measured in a few different ways, but the most popular are air changes per hour (ACH) and cubic feet of air (CFM) moving through the house per hour. A good ACH score is less than 2ACH, but 1ACH is better. This means the house experiences a total air change within 60 minutes (for 1ACH). For 2ACH, there’s a complete change every 30 minutes, and so on. CFM scores are similar in that a lower score means less air change, and therefore less leakage.

Smart glass doesn’t use a lot of electricity, and you can expect a standard window to add between $1 and $2 per year to your electric bills. Smart glass is proof that energy-efficient windows work. Although your smart windows may consume a little energy to operate, they can save enough energy to offset the costs. If you’re concerned about the minimal bump to your electricity consumption, you can opt for smart tint, which doesn’t require electricity to work.

Leaving vents open but closing doors in unused rooms will probably not save money on your energy bill. Closed doors prevent the natural flow of air throughout the home, which could reduce the efficiency of the overall HVAC system. They could also restrict airflow into and through the return vents, making the HVAC system less efficient.
