"Did a great job with finishing touches as original build cut a lot of corners. Asked to enclosed one of the sunroom with less window and they did a fantastic job and turned out better than I could of hoped. Side note they also are dog people which my pups loved."
"Excellent! Arrived on time, Russ & team performed an excellent job. Even fixed a couple areas I did not see and could become a problem if left untreated. They completed in a timely manner & cleaned up removed all Items replaced an and left the work area neat and clean. Not the cheapest, but they did an excellent & I did quality work and gave great value for the level of work performed. Done right the first time. I plan to use them again!"
"J.C. is a very polite and friendly contractor. He built a screened-in porch on the back of our house. He and his helper did a good job except for using cheap materials in the ceiling that bulged in places and a screen door that would not hold it's shape. J.C. made an effort to correct these issues. He replaced the door with another door that also would not hold it's shape. His helper tried tacking the ceiling which worked to some extent. J.C. is an excellent tiler. He retiled our kitchen floor and bathroom. These are excellent. My husband and I would both recommend him highly for tiling. He and his crew laid bamboo flooring in our living area and hallway. It is beautiful except for some buckling issues. We made some notes of a few other areas that needed finishing. (3/4 round by the fireplace, sealing of the rock tile at the front door.) The frustrating part of our experience was the bathroom. My husband and I spent an enormous amount of time (50 miles round trip, 3 trips) to take care of tiling for the bathroom. Our first selection didn't work because when we were back home, we were told that some items were out of stock. If the tile is on the show room, it doesn't mean it is in s tock. Our second trip was wasted when the salesman JC wanted us to use showed us only high-end products and our bill was going to be through the roof. We only agreed to a third trip if JC would guarantee to come with us. JC highly recommended a walk-in shower. I was skeptical about our shower not spraying the bathroom floor with water without a door. JC explained how it would work and not to worry. A year later, we are finally contracting someone to come in and install a glass door so I don't have to wipe up the bathroom floor after a shower. JC was not always present when the workers were there. As a result a lot of work had to be redone due to lack of experience. J.C agreed that his continuing presence was needed in order to guide the progress and accuracy of his workers. When we pointed out that the tiles to the bathroom looked crooked, JC explained it was the initial contractor who didn't build the house square. That sort of information would have been helpful before the work began and not after it was completed. J.C. found a great solution and redid the vanity wall to line up with the tile. The make-up mirror was installed too high and only cold water came out of the shower head until JC thought they may have overlooked the scald-prevention device. Once it was removed, it was fine. We both like J.C very much. I think it became frustrating for him when we asked him about problems we saw and how it would be corrected. It became clear that he was ready to move on to the next job. The overall experience and quality of work we graded at about a C. On the other hand, J. C.'s tiling would be A+"

"Everything went well and the job was done to my satisfaction. The crew from Wize removed the old gutters and downspouts, then cleaned the fascia and plugged the old mounting holes. They then installed 6 inch seamless guttering and downspouts. Once the work was done, the crew walked around the house and picked up all scraps and screws. "

In Shelby, the age and maintenance history of your home determine if repairs to framing or insulation are needed before new siding is installed. Homes with previous water damage or shifting foundations from clay soil may require extra preparation. Existing landscaping, drainage patterns, and the placement of utilities like electrical panels or HVAC units also influence how siding work is approached and completed.

In Shelby, homeowners play a key role in selecting siding materials that withstand local humidity and storms, such as fiber cement or vinyl. You’ll also choose colors and profiles to boost curb appeal and match neighborhood aesthetics. Deciding on project timing to avoid peak storm seasons, confirming contractor experience with Shelby’s building codes, and setting expectations for weatherproofing and insulation are all important homeowner decisions.

Shelby professionals first address any water intrusion or hidden structural issues, especially those aggravated by local soil movement. They prioritize installing moisture barriers and ensuring proper ventilation to enhance energy efficiency. Work is scheduled around Shelby’s frequent storms to protect your home exterior. After structural and weatherproofing concerns, they focus on pest prevention and selecting siding that maintains long-term curb appeal.

Shelby homeowners should account for the area’s clay soil, which can shift and impact siding alignment over time. Local vegetation, such as overhanging trees, may increase debris and moisture exposure. Be mindful of HOA guidelines, historic district standards, and neighborhood trends that influence siding choices. Availability of weather-resistant materials and experienced contractors in Shelby can also affect project planning and timelines.
Helpful?
In Shelby, bubbling paint, mildew streaks, or swelling boards often signal trapped moisture—a common precursor to rot and structural damage. If you notice warped siding after heavy rain, or hear increased outside noise, these can indicate compromised insulation. Early signs like insect trails or persistent dampness around seams should prompt immediate attention to prevent more extensive home exterior repairs.
