Tres Jacob Landscaping & Lawn Care is a landscaping and lawn care company that has over 12 years of experience. We are your one-stop place for everything related to lawn care maintenance including, but not limited to: spring/fall clean-ups, sod installation, lawn fertilization and planting among others. Our #1 focus is customer satisfaction and we are flexible on scheduling as well as customizing the services according to the customers' needs. We also work with a billing system.

"Horrible communication, unprofessional, and unreliable. I’ve used these guys a few times in the past and while they did a decent job on my lawn I will no longer conduct business with them. The first time I had them service my lawn there were no issues other then having to resort to texting in order to communicate with them. The second time I had called a week in advance to assure my lawn was cut by a specific date and time since my wife was having a meeting at our home. This companies owner confirmed with me for that morning. The day we agreed on came, and the morning passed, NO SHOW. When I followed up with the owner (through text because I couldn’t get him on the phone) and asked if they were still coming out, he replied “we are going later today” and “sorry for the inconvenience”. Later? Her guest are about to arrive. He gave me no heads up even though I had scheduled days before. Last week I decided to take them up on extra service and add mulch. We confirmed the color of the mulch and the day he would come out but he never specified a time. That Tuesday came while I was at work and I didn’t have my phone on because I was in a meeting, he texted me “We are here”. When I texted him back later I had told him I was at work and didn’t have my phone and asked if they cut my lawn. I called my wife because she was home and she said no one came by. I also have Ring Doorbell Camera so I’m able to see if anyone pulls up in front of my house. And so by that I confirmed these guys just blew me off again. I texted him a few more times and then tried to call him twice with some time in between. He sent it right to voicemail and auto-texted me “Can I call you later?” Twice. After that he never attempted to reach out to me or try to explain what had happened. But the part that made me salty and really forced me to write this review is that, it’s been a week since I tried to reach out to him and after no returned texts or calls, I see him at my neighbors house!! I absolutely do not recommend this company if you’re looking for reliable service and professionalism. In my opinion it’s not worth the headache of not knowing if your lawn will get cut."

Mulch and Topsoil questions, answered by experts

First, dig a hole that’s the same depth as the root ball and wide enough for the roots to spread out fully. Before placing the tree in the hole, pour water in to help get rid of any air pockets in the soil.

When filling the hole back in, opt for a 1:1 ratio of organic compost with the soil left over from the ground. Do not use potting soil, fertilizer, or chemicals of any kind, as these can stress out and kill your newly planted tree.

A well-maintained lawn has the most ROI when it comes to landscaping. Other enhancements, such as building a deck or patio and adding a front walkway, follow suit, but aiming to enhance the basics is where your home can truly shine and increase its profitability. Not only does it increase curb appeal, but it sets potential homebuyers up for landscaping success when they have a healthy, clean slate of grass to begin with.

Mulching any time of year can attract termites, so there’s no added risk in the fall. The important thing to remember is that termites are attracted to rotting wood, so you need to lay a thin enough layer that won’t trap too much moisture and lead to rotting. A layer between 1 and 4 inches thick should provide all the benefits you’re looking for without attracting termites.

Topsoil costs from $12 to $55 per cubic yard, depending on the type you choose. For example, screened black dirt will cost about $15 per cubic yard. Loam (soil composed of sand, silt, and clay) costs about $17 per cubic yard. Standard screened topsoil costs about $20 per cubic yard. The type of topsoil you need depends on your landscaping plans.

In most cases, it’s better to remove rocks before adding mulch. Layering the two will restrict drainage and plant health, and can create an unpleasant texture underfoot.
