About us

Father Nature Landscapes is a design, construction & maintenance company based in Pierce County and we have been in business since 2006. Our process begins with a visit to your property where we discuss what works, what doesn't and how you would like to use your land. We'll discuss the possibility of a design, quote a price on site making sure your goals are met and follow-up with a landscape design! During the design, we will create the yard of your dreams; then in the construction phase seek to provide amazing service, proactive project management and clear communication. Once the project is complete, we complete a final walk-through with you and will correct anything that doesn't meet agreed upon expectations. Had my whole yard redone a year ago. They moved my rock wall back (and got rid of some of my lawn, which I asked for) so that I could have a larger patio area in the back. The dirt they removed was put in the front lawn area so that it was level, and a rock wall was put in. Trees and shrubs were planted, a water fountain and lighting were put in, and my old sprinkler system was replaced. They were professional and I was even gone for 2 weeks on vacation while they worked. I am absolutely thrilled with the end results and have spent so much more on my patio than ever before because it is so relaxing and beautiful now. After the job was completed, I requested their biweekly maintenance. They do garden weeding, raking, edging, mowing and, when necessary, tree trimming. The tree trimming is done correctly and they deadwooded and thinned a tree and 2 rhododendrons that hadn’t been touch in years. They both look so much better and healthier. The workers are prompt, friendly, hardworking, and do great work. I highly recommend them.

Chris and his team are fantastic! They have been helping us with a massive overhaul of our back yard in different phases, and we really look forward to continuing to work with them. Chris is always there with a helpful opinion and EXTREMELY responsive. Wonderful folks and excellent quality work. Would recommend to anyone!

First, our goal was to create a clean, modern look in our backyard. We wanted clean lines, ease of maintenance with plants native to the NW. This meant replacing the old loose stack stone retaining wall, tearing out the non-native species (we had Yucca and a Palm tree of all things) plus some old trees that were dying. Cameron, a planner for Father Nature (FN), came out multiple times to the house and consulted us on our options. Cameron’s a natural at his job and he worked hard to make sure we got exactly what we wanted and paid for. Once we decided on what type of work we wanted done, Cameron went back and worked up an estimate for the job. It took a couple of days but that's because he sent me a precise plan with the billing of material included. Now's the time to talk cost. I had three company's give me estimates and FN was much higher than the other two. However, I did not get a warm fuzzy from either of the other company's, especially after getting same day handwritten estimates that provided no breakdown of the work to be done or the cost or type of materials to be used, they were just giving me an overall bid on the job. So yes, FN was more expensive but you get what you pay for and in this case, we got a planner (Cameron) who understood our vision and helped us reach it plus I knew exactly what I was paying for up front...no hidden surprises. The work took a total of 8.5 days and the difference is night and day. The crew (Carl, the foreman, plus Romeo, Antonio, and Ricco) were very polite, courteous and professional and busted their collective behinds off to do this job right. In all, they removed and replaced the retaining wall (stone masonry with cap stones were used), replaced 90% of the old plants with native species, installed a sprinkler and irrigation system for the entire backyard, spread new topsoil and sodded the entire grass area. At the end of every day the guys made sure their work area was cleaned up and the final clean up was perfect, especially considering the weather. All in all, I would work with these guys again. Great job Father Nature!

Very poor attention to detail. They talk a good story but workers lack supervision. Sod died - torn up by critters.

Each time they've come out, the end result is very pleasing. I am very happy - much happier than previous lawn care service providers. I look forward to their bi-weekly arrival to keep our yard/lawn looking very nice.

They made good on what I wasn't quite happy with on the first trip. Plus they mowed my lawn for free on top of it.

They are very attentive to good care of the trees and the plants that they were taking care of. I live in a neighborhood where people hire these gardeners that come in and use choppers and mold everything into a rounded shape. I didn't want that. They were very careful and shaped the tree naturally rather than a balloon. I had them come back because they did one tree not to my satisfaction and they came back to fix it and did not charge me for that.

The removal of the plum tree went well. They cut it to below the dirt level and reseeded the lawn which the birds in the neighborhood very much appreciated. A small 4 yr old evergreen was moved some three feet down the driveway. Unfortunately it never recovered and had to be pulled three months later. Two workers were very polite and had the job and cleanup done before the day was over.

I called Father Nature to do a gravel driveway extension for the main driveway in front of my house. I have to say how incredibly impressed I am with not only the speed with which the Father Nature crew worked but the quality of workmanship on the part of the team. When we called to get an estimate for the work Cameron showed up to review the work site and assess the tasks needed to complete. Cameron explained everything that was going to be needed to complete the job; equipment, supplies and a verbal breakdown of the tasks to complete. On the day of the project the entire staff was courteous.. professional and thorough. They even helped us out by lifting out the Invisible Fence line that (I found out only the night before) went right down the middle of the area where the driveway was going to be placed. One of the team even offered to help reconnect it! I told him “No.. that’s on me.. I have to call Invisible Fence and get a repair kit and don’t worry about it”. The end result is absolutely outstanding I can’t express enough how pleased I am with the results. Thank Father Nature! Great job.. Worth every penny!

Cameron, the owner, is absolutely great. He came out and gave great ideas. When three of the plants died, he came out to look into it and make adjustments. His prices are very reasonable, and I would highly recommend Cameron and his company, Father Nature.

I thought I was purchasing a deal for a landscaping plan. I didn't receive plans, just a walk through the yard and an estimate for labor and material.

They did a pretty good job, and they had some issues with the stone wall, but they just came back and fixed the issues with the stone wall free of charge, which I appreciated. I didn't think technically being 3 years ago, they needed to do that. They had to come back and fix some stuff, but the fact that they didn't charge me was nice.

"Hi [Member Name Removed], We’re sorry to see that you are unhappy with the evaluation. We have been trying our best to explain to those who purchase the Landscape Evaluation that this service does not include a physical design or drawing. Again, we apologize for this misunderstanding. The landscape evaluation is for our time and professional input as we evaluate your property to provide you with ideas tailored to meet your specific needs and goals for your landscape. After our time onsite we deliver a detailed and thorough proposal, which can be further altered to better suit your vision or budget. This is different from an estimate as we strive to provide you with a clear price that will match the final invoice, rather than a ball park figure. We appreciate your feedback and will use this experience to help prevent future confusion when the Landscape Evaluation is purchased."

I contacted Father Nature about August.  Chris advised not trying to transplant anything until October or November, so November was when the work was carried out.  I was eager for the work and hated to wait, but it was the right thing to do, and I appreciated that Father Nature waited until the rains came.
It went very well.  It was a lot of work, took longer than planned.  Required two days rather than one, but they stayed with the original proposal.  I will definitely use them again for large work.
Amanda, the office manager, is good about communicating, and they do what they say they'll do.  The work order is detailed in writing for the work team.
I hadn't expected to do so much, and hadn't expected to pay so much.  I don't regret it one bit.

Showed up on time, gave in-depth ideas on what could be done to improve the landscaping around the house which was very overgrown and offered to assist with any part of plan, once ready.  We took a lot of notes, but once he left it was a little difficult to pull them altogether; he provided a lot of ideas.  A draft of a potential plan/s would have been nice though not expected for the price.

They came out and did the evaluation. The difficulty was the bid price was exorbitantly high. The estimate was close to $17000 for the work I wanted done. They were very nice people. Their bid was very professional. It sounded like they would do everything right. It's just an awful price tag. I'm sure they would have done a good job. The only drawback was the price.
