"Had Davis Environmental in to remove squirrels from my attic, they setup traps to capture them and on the first day all were trapped for removal. Reset trap’s for additional few days to make sure they were gone, afterwards all enters from the squirrels were sealed. No new activity found in the house, glad to have all removed."

"I had Yellow Jackets nesting in my outer wall and which was not easy to get to the nest. But after the persistence by Steve, and 3 visits they were finally eliminated. Unfortunately I had to cut into my interior wall to remove the nest, BUT they are no longer a problem. Thank You Steve."

Animal Removal questions, answered by experts

Armadillos are most active during cooler hours to avoid extreme temperatures, particularly the daytime heat in the warm climates where they live. This activity pattern helps them reduce the risk of overheating and dehydration. They are generally active from late at night to early morning, often between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., but can also be seen around dawn and dusk. An exception to this is during mating season (June-July in the northern hemisphere, November-December in the southern hemisphere), when male armadillos may be more active than usual.

It’s very rare to find mice in a bed frame or mattress outside of the most extreme infestation scenarios. That said, your bedroom isn’t off limits for mice if it offers them shelter, food, and warmth. Look for any gaps or openings a mouse could squeeze into, and don’t keep food in your bedroom.

Trapping should be a last resort for getting rid of armadillos from your yard. To reduce the chance of damage, try exclusion techniques, habitat modification, and removal of attractants. No repellents are proven effective against armadillos. Instead, consider fencing, sealing burrow holes, and clearing debris and overgrown shrubs that act as hiding spots. You should also remove easy-to-access food sources, such as fallen fruit.

Yes, badgers can benefit the environments they live in. As they dig and feed, they carry and disperse seeds, which helps plants spread and grow. They also build tunnels that other species, like rabbits and foxes, can move into. However, these benefits may not be desirable on your property, and badger removal may be preferable.

Skunks spray as a defense mechanism to ward off predators. The active ingredient in their sulfurous, oily musk is n-butyl mercaptan, which evaporates into a powerful and smelly gas. Once the spray hits the skunk’s target, the stench can linger for days, and water and common cleaning kits aren’t enough to wash it away.

If you happen upon a skunk in your yard, try to back away slowly to reduce the chance of them aiming at you. Encouragingly, they don’t use their weapon casually, as it can take up to 10 days for their life-saving weaponry to refill. Paw stamping, hissing, lifting their tail, and arching their back are early signs they feel trapped or under threat and that it’s time to make a careful retreat.
