We are a full service General Contractor but we also offer many small services to help you with any needs. We do all kinds of new construction from residential to commercial and also offer many maintenance choices from your yard to your roof.

"Communication was great. The house is tall and on a hill. We talked to 3 different companies about doing the work. One company chose not to do it because the house is tall and sits on a hill. Of the other two companies, Total Construction had the best estimate and the people were so nice. I'm so glad they came out to do the work. Each day they cleaned up behind themselves and made it easy for my family to live in the home even though the work was being done. Everything looks so nice now. I know some of my neighbors will be using this company now because they loved watching the work & the outcome!! Great Company!!! Highly recommended!!"

"Roto-Rooter of Rocky Mount, NC installed a new well pump at my home seven months ago which failed Friday night at 9pm. They told me their warranty was only good M-F 8am to 5 PM, see you Monday. So Saturday I removed the well pump and took videos of the mess they made (it is posted on YouTube) They did not tighten the plumbing, well cap, or secure the 220 Volt wiring and conduit. High voltage wiring was exposed and the wires going to the pump were nicked in several places during installation. They did not install spacers on the line or an anti-torsion boot by the well, so the wires rubbed against the casing and shorted out. At the water tight connections they burnt the wire insulation with a torch and damaged the insulation. It took my two hours to install new wiring (the new wiring they installed was worn in several locations and spliced several times because they couldn’t measure the wire length correctly), install the proper spacers and boot, rewrite and plumb it back in. Roto Rooter spent 12 man hours, 2 techs 6 hours total to do the job. So, Roto Rooter acknowledged that the work was substandard after I sent them the links to the videos and promptly told me the warranty was now voided because I installed it correctly. Joel, the RotoRooter agent told me I didn’t want to resolve the situation when I asked for a refund on the parts and labor on the items their tech did incorrectly. Here is a link to the you tube videos: [*** Link removed ***] There are 7 parts"

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

You should not attempt to snake your sewer yourself. Accessing and snaking your sewer requires heavy-duty equipment, and while renting is possible, misusing it can damage your sewer main and leave you with very expensive repair costs, not to mention potential environmental issues and severe water damage. Accessing your sewer also exposes you to hazardous sewer gasses, and failing to seal the sewer properly after work can be very dangerous. It’s always best to hire a professional sewer cleaner near you to handle this type of work.

It's advisable to have your sewer line inspected every three to five years to ensure its proper functioning and detect any potential issues early on. However, the frequency of inspections can vary based on factors such as the age of your sewer system, the type of pipes used, and your property's location. If you notice any warning signs like slow drains, foul odors, or sewage backups, it's essential to schedule an inspection promptly, regardless of the regular maintenance schedule.

Regular maintenance, such as not disposing of grease or coffee grounds down the sink and routine use of strainers, can prevent clogs.

Regular cleaning, avoiding grease disposal in sinks, and installing drain strainers help prevent clogs.

If the toilet is overflowing but there’s no clog, that’s a sign that the issue is deeper in the system, and plunging may not help. A blockage in your home’s plumbing, the plumbing vent, or even city sewer lines can cause toilets to overflow. The issue could also be the toilet itself if the filler float isn’t set to the correct height or if parts are damaged or worn out.
