"The work that Chris and his team completed for us was done in a timely and very professional manner. Work had to be broken into a couple of segments related to weather; with each reschedule Chris was great to communicate changes in schedule and why it was needed. We asked him to remove some older Laurel bushes that had gotten too large for the space they were in and also fill a couple of empty spots in front landscape beds by relocating a plant and adding a couple of new ones. Landscape beds look great with new pine mulch. Aeration and overseeding has been successful with a plentiful amount of rain this fall. Moving a boulder from one place to another in our landscape was seemingly made easy with their Bobcat. Any grassy areas marred by Bobcat tracks and lifting of the rock were raked level and repaired with grass seed and straw. These areas are filling in nicely as well. We are very pleased with Chris Broadway and team's work ethic, communication policy, and professionalism. Each time we've asked Chris to complete work for us he's treated the property as if it's his own....which is greatly appreciated. We wouldn't hesitate reaching out to Chris again in the future for help with landscape or irrigation work."

He provided a competitive quote for the entire project and he offered to help me remove some branches off a tree in the front yard on the spot. "We are extremely pleased with the quality and professionalism of Hardscapes and the care they put into constructing our patio. Adam was highly professional, knew exactly what to do with our sloped grade and how to attractively integrate our new outdoor space with the existing area. While we were trying to decide on the color and texture of the pavers and retaining block to be used, Adam dropped by and left us samples of those selections we had made to assure we would be happy before going forward. One of the things that was important to me personally and I really appreciated with Adam was that when I first met with him and told him what we were thinking of doing, he pointed out several things that I had set my mind on and he told me that they could be done but that I probably wouldn't be happy with them in the end, considering the smaller size of our space. Based on his experience he was thinking of what he believed would best accomplish our goal and make us the most happy in the end. When it was finished, it was easy to see he was correct. Several of my ideas would not have worked well or looked very good. Ours was a smaller project and we were pleased when one of his crews became available to come several weeks early and tackle the job in just 3 days. This being our first patio, I was impressed at the amount of work that went into a project like this. His crew earned my respect with their knowledge, courtesy and attention to detail. They were very open to any questions or concerns I had during the project and made sure I was satisfied as they proceeded. Every one of them had a terrific attitude. Due to the slope of our back yard, they built up the space with retaining block that created a very attractive, slight lift to the outer edge of the patio above the yard, which we just love. They integrated the house side of the patio seamlessly with the existing siding and left a nice clean line. At the completion of the job, they cleaned up and covered any trodden-down areas with topsoil and left the yard in terrific shape! They also warranty their work and all I can say is, if you're looking for someone to come in and do your Hardscape project, give this guy a call."

"The good: Jeff responded to my Angi's request within a day. We agreed on a time for him to come to my home to give me an estimate. He came out on time and gave me an estimate of $1175 to weed the landscaped parts of my property and spread 10 cubic yards of pine bark mulch. I've been mulching my own yard for the last decade plus, so I know exactly how much mulch costs. The quoted price was a little higher than what I was anticipating, but not unreasonably high. We scheduled a date for them to come out. The crew arrived on time and worked throughout their 3+ hours here. The not-so-good: Jeff's method of weeding is not to pull up weeds by their roots, but to mow them with his edger. I was not expecting this. So all the weeds are just going to grow back. Jeff also used his edger to mow an area in the backyard that was mostly ground-cover plantings and strawberry plants that we just beginning to form berries. There were also some weeds mixed in that area - I was expecting him to pull up the weeds, but instead he blitzed everything and covered the entire area with mulch. So now we have no strawberries and no ground cover in that area of the yard. I was upset about this and spoke to Jeff. He said that he thought the entire area was weeds and basically blamed me for not pointing out the strawberries and ground-cover plants when he came out to give me an estimate. He is right that I did not point these out at this time, but neither did I point out any of the other plantings that I did not wish to be destroyed (I have a fairly big yard with lots of plantings). The second issue that came up, which I was not expecting, is that about halfway through their time working, Jeff told me that he'd need 15 cubic yards of mulch to finish. As I said, I have been mulching my myself yard for the decade plus I've been living here, and I've always needed between 9 to 11 cubic yards (the number decreases as the ground-cover plantings spread). Last year I ordered and spread 9 cubic yards, but I actually needed 1 cubic yard more. I don't know why Jeff needed 50% more mulch. That increased the total price to $1400."
