Alex's Lawnscape

Alex did landscaping, installed an irrigation system, and Zoysia sod. Everyone was very attentive, did a fantastic job. Highly recommend.

I contacted Alex about installing three Italian Cypress trees. He told me since it was such a small job he would have to charge me $1,000 to make it worth his while and that he would work me in between jobs. A week went by and he never followed up to confirm anything. Fast forward a few weeks and he tells me he is able to get the trees but the price is now $1,700. The justification was that the job was going to take a full day and he could not tackle any other projects that day, so the price had to reflect that. We met at $1,600. The morning of the install he calls to inform me that the original nursery sold the trees to someone else and that he found them elsewhere but not all in the same size. So if we wanted these exact trees it would be an extra $100 since one of them was larger than the other two. Not ideal, but we agreed. The job was simple. Dig out and edge a mulch bed and install 3 trees 3 feet apart to create a privacy wall against the fence. Apparently this was not clear when I explained it because the trees were spaced about 5 feet apart when I came out to check on the project. They then had to be dug up and moved, which was inconvenient for them since they were rushing to get to their next job. Even with the misunderstanding and essentially redoing the job twice over, Alex and his two-man crew were here less than two hours. Not a full day job at all, just a money grab for Alex, who is unethical and dishonest. Alex s team did not even dig a proper mulch bed, they simply pulled the grass away with a shovel. And they left our yard a complete mess of mounds of wet clay, roots, and grass inside the bed, and the grass outside of the bed trampled. I had to buy topsoil for the trees and more gravel to frame in the bed. I complained to Alex about the bed and he came back four hours later to edge a clean line, but that is all it is, a line. We hired another company for the landscaping in our front yard and they are significantly better at their craft. They also provided plant care instructions, water schedules by season, and warranty information for their work. On the latter, Alex told me that the plants were covered should something go wrong but that we would be responsible for the labor. I have reached out to Alex four times to get the warranty information and he has completely ignored me, I suspect because he knows the trees were not properly installed and may not survive. Alex is fine though he got his money and is on to the next job. Alex will tell you that the bed was crispy clean before the trees had to be moved, that in digging new holes they encountered a large log that had to be removed from the area. However, if they actually took the time to dig a proper bed in the first place, that log would have been discovered before they brought the trees into the area. There really is not a narrative that justifies the end product. It looks awful.

Never started job and told week after week I was next on the list. After more than a month of asking I finally had to move on with another company. That was after paying 800.00 a 10% deposit that I may not even get back. His reply was good luck and thats all. Poor business decision.

Had to wait a while for this review. Had a large section of the yard that would gather water. Had to wait for the heavy rains to see if the grading worked. It did, these guys were up against a tough deal. They had to take down a hundred feet of cyclone fencing and work with a lot of wet clay. They did the job like professionals should. I think Alex is an honest guy who works hard to do what he said he would do. Unfortunately, I did not realize that his area of expertise is in hard scapes, pavers, retaining walls etc. I hired him to dig trenches and ended up with a lot of damaged irrigation pipes, wires, French drains, etc.He fixed most everything, but I am still waiting on him to come back and redo a pipe that he repaired that is now leaking. He stuck to his estimated price which was fair and reasonable for the work that was done.

My experience with Alex s Lawnscape. I am a black retired disabled Army veteran, that I had Alex s Lawnscape came to give me a quote for my yard in Harrisburg, NC. Alex s was the only person to give me a quote for installing Bermuda grass in my yard at the time. He said that I had over 1000-square feet to do my yard to laid down the Bermuda sod grass but I found out that it was only 1000 sq ft. He brought 2 pallets of Bermuda sod grass which was $260.00 dollars each and 1 big bag of dirt to put in my yard for $184.99. He did not level my yard at all with the little bit of dirt. After Alex did my yard, I complain about the way my yard look, I asked him to fix the yard, he then told me that I would have to pay him more money for his time to refix my yard. I had already paid him a great deal of money. The Super Sod store told me to ask Alex to take his big roller to roll over the Bermuda sod grass to try to correct the problem, but Alex refuse to do it. Alex also cut my home phone line to my house with his machine. Also, after he finish my yard at my house, Alex left his big trailer in front of my house for 4 days like I was a storage company. I also gave Alex s a reference in the neighborhood, and Alex did not do anything for me for the assistance of my neighbor but a thanks!! Alex s crew, was profession, but Alex was not there all of the time as they were doing my yard. There were times, when I was looking out of my window, as they were laying down the Bermuda sod grass, the sod would come apart, and they would continue to put the toren sod down in pieces, some sod that look dead. The Bermuda sod grass has caught and it is growing but I will have to put dirt in the spots where Alex s have my yard looking lumping and deep hilly spots in my yard. My opinion, I think that Alex s took advantage of my kindness and charge me a great deal money.

Wow. Alex is top notch, and I would highly recommend him to anyone needing landscaping work. From beginning to end, the experience was exemplary. The consult and quoting was spot on, he came in on budget, and the quality of craftsmanship is top notch. I had a stone retaining wall installed in the back of my yard, and one of my primary concerns was not damaging my existing scape. Once they were done, I couldn t even tell they were here, except for the beautiful stone wall they left behind. You can t go wrong doing business with Alex!

Alex was the only sevice that responded from Home Adcors (I did have quotes from elsewhere) He was very professional, curteous and he had hard workers. He provided an estmate of Sod and despite all the rain and mjud we had from the amount of rain in Charlotte Nc They did the job as promised and it looks great. I would highly recomend his services.

Alex sub contracted with Vivid Services LLC. They did a great job. I have had no water leaks. My lawn however was all dug up my the heavy equipment and needs to be repaired in the spring with grading and seeding.

Good detailed estimate, prompt response. Started job on time with good crew that finished promptly and left the place neat and clean. Overall we are very happy. Hope to have them back next year.

Crew was very polite, respectful, and professional. Hardworking group, showed up on time or a little early every day. Ours was a tough job- a patio reusing existing stone with varied thickness, some grading, and wet muddy conditions. They seemed very precise in execution and took extra time to make sure everything was done right. Very happy with results. We will be calling them again for future projects.

The workers were very polite and caring with all my flower beds. They did a fantastic job. They will now cut my grass also.

Misleading. Make sure you get everything clearly stated in writing.

Had Alex replace my old cement walkway in front of my home with brick pavers. Turned out great-they put a lot of detail into making sure the job was done complete and right. Cleaned up everything after the job was done.

He was great! Originally there was a miscommunication about where all needed to be mowed but his crew was out the next day to make it right with smiles on their faces and that was greatly appreciated. I definitely recommend his services!

They were very punctual and professional. The whole process including contacting, estimating, and finishing the work took about a morning, which pleases me a lot. The charge, however, (probably due to the rushed request) was a bit high, and I wish that they could have been more informative about cleaning package, especially for first-timed customers like myself. In summary, it was overall a positive experience for me.

Alex was very responsive and personable. He pays attention to detail.
