"It went fabulous! My request was that they pull out the bath/shower combo, and that they do their best not to damage the toilet and tile. They did exactly that! the custom built shower is a couple of inches wider than a standard shower, but it matched up perfectly with the floor tile. They replaced the pipes and moisture barrier. The work was exquisite. I was very pleased! The men who did the work cleaned up after themselves each night. They were extremely careful, and the work was great!"

"This is a great contractor. With all the storms and damage in my area it is nearly impossible to find honest and reliable contractors. Jeffrey is amazing and absolute perfection on my roof. Jeffrey replaced my roof (shingles) with a metal one. My home is 4,500 sq.ft and has a lot of different peaks and angles and they had to hang by harnesses to get to certain parts of the home. He also built awning over my patio and tied it in beautifully with the new roof. I have never have had a contractor of this caliber. He provided a written estimate and contract. Jeffrey is extremely professional while being personable. He is very trustworthy and I have left him alone in my home on several occasion without a second thought. He was responsive whenever I reached out and always willing to answer my questions. They also cleaned up daily when they left each day including scanning for nails. I highly recommend Jeffrey as this is an extraordinary professional."

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

The primary benefits of an egress window include providing a safe emergency exit, increasing natural light in a space like a basement, and improving ventilation. Additionally, installing an egress window can often increase your property's value.

To find and hire a reputable contractor for an egress window installation, you should first research local professionals and then vet your top candidates. Start by searching for local contractors who specialize in this type of work, read their customer reviews, and examine their website and portfolio. Once you have a shortlist, contact them to ask key questions: Are you licensed and insured? What is your specific experience installing egress windows? Can you provide references from previous customers? Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors? What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule? How do you handle payment?

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.

DIY is possible for experienced individuals. Professional installation ensures compliance with building codes and proper sealing.

An egress window is similar to a regular window. However, this type of window opens fully to allow people to escape the home or rescue personnel to enter the home if an emergency occurs. Egress windows are required in all finished basements before they can be considered a living space.
