"Garage Flooring Pros do what they say they are going to do, no BS. I am so glad I got my garage floor epoxied. In previous homes I have owned, I did a DUI epoxy myself but was not satisfied with the end results. The difference between DUI and garage flooring pros is night and day. Only thing I regret is not getting it done sooner!"

"Richard Uhl (owner, Uhl Stonework & Epoxy Floors) and his team are fantastic and I highly recommend them to anyone considering hardscapes or epoxy floorwork. Before we selected Uhl Stonework, Richard came out and gave us an estimate on our patio and outlined the process of designing & building. He was kind and helped my wife and I understand exactly what to expect through the entire process. We then took to his website to look at the many examples of patio projects, so we felt comfortable that we knew what we were going to get, and selected his company to put in our patio. On day one of the job, Richard's team arrived and they proved to be highly skilled, respectful, and treated our property with the utmost care. They were friendly yet respected our privacy throughout the 5 day patio construction. It was fun to see the work that was done each day, and Richard and his team helped me understand the process and why they were doing what they did. His team finished the job by the fifth day, and now we have a beautiful natural stone patio in our backyard to enjoy! In summary, I strongly recommend Uhl Stonework & Epoxy Floors to anyone who is looking for a reputable company with the proper skillset and exceptional staff to do an excellent job."

Epoxy Flooring questions, answered by experts

In most cases, yes, sealing concrete will stop spalling. However, it’s not a perfect solution—it may only delay spalling. Call your local concrete repair contractor for quotes on the best sealing options to prevent spalling.

It costs between $600 and $8,400 to stain an average-size concrete patio of around 300 square feet. The wide price range accounts for intricate stains that incorporate multiple colors and stenciling, high-end sealers, and special touches, such as stamping or concrete polishing. Prices can also vary if you need to make multiple repairs to your patio before adding the stain and seal.

Yes. So-called “floating” cork floors can be installed over concrete subfloor, though a polyethylene vapor barrier is required. This type of installation is achieved using the glue-down tiles, which are trickier for a DIY approach, so consider calling a professional to help you if you’re planning to install your cork floor over concrete.

To keep your stamped concrete surfaces shiny, experts recommend resealing them every two or three years. Regularly cleaning your stamped concrete (at least twice per year, as part of routine maintenance) is another way to increase its sheen. Also, if you notice any spills or leaks, you should clean your stamped concrete as soon as possible to preserve its shine and prevent long-term damage.

Epoxy coatings for garage floors offer a variety of finish and design options, including:

  • Decorative colored flakes: $10 per 250-pound bag

  • Metallic epoxy: $5–$12 per square foot

  • Rock or stone epoxy: $100 per gallon

  • Acrylic and poly-acrylic sealants: $0.85–$1.15 per square foot

  • Polyurethane sealant: $0.95–$1.10 per square foot

  • Polyurea sealant: $150 per gallon
