We have a factory outlet T 2717 Patterson Street in Greensboro, where we sell a variety of new, comfortable, attractive mattresses, box springs/foundations, and headboards at bargain prices. We also do commercial and residential reupholstery. Our company builds mattresses from new and sanitized inner springs, with all new materials. The old materials are sent to local and regional recycling facilities, from whom we often buy new recycled materials, thereby “closing the loop” and minimizing our carbon footprint. Nothing goes to the landfill. We also employ the chronically unemployed, who are frequently ex-offenders or those with other “problem” backgrounds, to give them and their families a chance at a better future. We are also the largest mattress recycler in the Mid-Atlantic serving local governments, military, retailers and manufacturers, colleges and universities and the hospitality industry. We are located in a previously-abandoned distribution plant, which we have refurbished and reopened, to the betterment of the community. If you would like us to pick up your old mattresses and/or box springs/foundations, please call us. All of our products have a year warranty. We are looking forward to being of service.

Vinegar won’t strip the wood stain from your wood, but it can help remove a different type of stain. If you’re dealing with food stains or trying to remove water rings on your wood, you can use a little olive oil and vinegar (mixed equally) to remove those stains without stripping your actual wood stain. Just rub the solution in the direction of the wood grain, let it sit, and then wipe it away with a damp towel.

When browsing the hardware store, you may wonder about wood putty versus wood filler. Wood putty is made with plastic adhesive, whereas wood filler is made from sawdust or wood products.

The main difference is that people use wood filler to fix the interior portions of wood. Wood putty contains chemicals that could damage the inside of wood, so it's best for exterior sections. If the crack or hole goes into the middle of the lumber, it's the right product for the job.

Wood stains last anywhere from two to five years, depending on exposure to the elements, your local climate, the type of stain, and the surface it’s on. For instance, vertical surfaces last longer than horizontal surfaces. Some types of woods, like dense hardwoods, will require a recoat yearly, as they are too dense for the stain to absorb. In any event, apply a recoat every 2 to 4 years. As for storage, a can of unopened stain can last up to 5 years, though results may vary.

Sometimes you will need a stronger cleaning solution to thoroughly clean furniture before painting. It’s best to start with a mild solution to avoid damaging the surface, especially if it is an antique piece. If you need to use a stronger mixture, try a commercial cleaner or mineral spirits. Before applying any solution, do a test patch on an inconspicuous area so you don’t risk damaging the finish.

Yes, in most cases it’s a good idea to wrap furniture in plastic to protect it from dirt, dust, and damage during storage. However, natural and porous materials such as wood or leather should have breathable fabric covers to prevent moisture damage from condensation. Either way, it’s always important to ensure proper ventilation to prevent moisture buildup, especially in humid climates.
