"What the customer failed to mention was the light fixtures were in fact old, the wires were very brittle, and we had fluctuating voltage at the fixture, we did in fact test voltage leaving every circuit breaker, each circuit breaker tested for proper voltage, we in fact removed each breaker and conducted a visual examination of each breaker and the busbar in which they were plugged in to. After installing the new light fixtures the fluctuating voltage stopped and before we left the site, there was no flickering at the fixture.(the Customer stated that the light fixtures were old and needed replacing). The customer made the decision to replace the fixtures, before we completed any more work. JSE Inc. received a call several months later from this customer, stating that he just had some remolding completed and that he had several breakers replaced, and was requesting a refund from us, (although for several months after we completed the job, there was no flickering at the light fixtures we replaced). We here at JSE Inc. value all our customers, and try to follow the spirit and intentions of the electrical codes as they are written "for the safety and welfare of the general public" We only wish the best for this customer, we hire highly trained and educated electricians, we have a training program and policy and procedures to follow. Thank You. John Starzynski, President John Starz Electric, Inc."
I was sent a text (yes, a text) from the owner telling me what I owed. I insisted on an invoice and received an invoice a couple days later with a complete list of the repairs each listed as costing $0.00 dollars but somehow adding up to $225. At the end of the day, expressing my frustration with everything he let me know that I could have been charged $500 for services rendered but he was doing me a favor of some kind...wow. Oh, and don't forget to add the 8% surcharge for paying with your credit card. It took nearly a week of back-and-forth to acquire any kind of official inspection report that I would need to get the power turned on or sell to the next prospective buyer. If you prefer and can afford to do all your business on a wink and a nod then perhaps this company is for you. As for me, I've never had such a poor and unprofessional experience. Update: Although I've paid the bill despite the incredibly inaccurate invoice, the owner of the company has threatened to and quot;contact my commandand quot; as though I've done something illegal. I give up.
"In Response to your False accusations, first we discussed in detail the price you were to be charged. Our prices are pretty standard; as follows $150.00 Visual Walk through Inspection; $125.00 Local Jurisdiction Electrical Permit Admin Fees. You were given a quote over a phone call on the items needed to be repaired, you gave us authorization to proceed on the repairs, we suggested to you a solution on 2 items to just disconnect the wires in the Electrical Panel (in order to reduce the cost, on which you agreed to) due to the fact you could not provide a key for us to gain entrance into the "out building and determine if there were any violations" in fact you yourself stated that you "broke into the building by climbing through a window. That in itself should of raised a "red flag" as to the integrity of the person we were going to be dealing with, But we here at JSE, Inc. do our best to not judge our customers and try to deliver the best possible service to our customers. I will agree with Mr. Sorg; we did in fact communicate through text messages, a primary way of communication in todays busy world. We do in fact send out Estimates, Invoices and Reports, upon request. By the way, we have not received Payment as of Today 2-10-2014, and the State of North Carolina allows us to use a "surcharge on all Credit Card Transactions"
