"Leo Diaz is the BEST landscaper I have ever hired and the ONLY ONE who completes a job that exceeds expectations. All at an incredibly low price. I had previously hired a well advertised company here in South Charlotte to prune some invasive bushes. They sent 3 men and charged $350. Then I asked Leo Diaz who did a BETTER job at half the price. I hesitate to post this review for fear of losing Leo to other homeowners. Right now he is the best kept secret in Charlotte. I guarantee you will be more than pleased by his work, his attitude, and his price."

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

Johnsongrass and crabgrass are invasive weeds that can overtake your lawn. Crabgrass is a low-growing grass most often seen in lawns, flower beds, and vegetable gardens. While you may find Johnsongrass growing in your lawn, it will also grow in pastures, crop fields, and the edge of the road. Johnsongrass is much coarser than crabgrass. If left alone, Johnsongrass can grow up to 8 feet tall.

DIY solutions often lack precise formulation and distribution, potentially leading to lawn damage. Professional treatments optimize results with targeted applications.

Each type of weed comes with its own control methods, but stopping the seed spread is the first step. Grazing, mowing, and hand pulling can slow the invasion. In some cases, selective herbicide is necessary to stop a persistent weed from overtaking an area.

They compete for nutrients and water, potentially stunting desired plants.

The best time to fight crabgrass with pre-emergent herbicide is when forsythias tend to bloom. In the mid-Atlantic region, this is usually between April and May. Even if you're late to apply the herbicide, it’s effective as long as the crabgrass plant has fewer than five leaves.
