"What can I say that 5 stars can't? I had been looking for a landscaper for a home that I purchased with a badly neglected front lawn (I use the word "lawn" very loosely, as by this point it was a collection of weeds with a blade of grass here and there). I wanted to remove the grass and put a mix of flowers, edible plants, and black mulch. I interviewed about 5 landscapers all who seemed very capable. I chose Jeff because he was personable and obviously very passionate about what he does.. Jeff and Dave were super easy to work with. I had a few plants that I liked and they were able to tell me what would work best and why. They paired the plants on my list with other plants that really made everything pop visually when placed together. In the end, they designed a beautiful space that I couldn't have imagined myself. All while keeping to my requirements of having a low-maintenance and drought resistant yard. They installed sod in my barren yard-new build. Looks amazing. All the grass caught and we have a lush carpet yard. I now have a beautiful space that has flowers and plenty of edible additions. I sometimes catch myself staring out the window just admiring the landscaping. My neighbors all love it as well. I definitely recommend Jeff and team"

Customers say: Super punctual
"Let us start with the conclusion: Kevin James Landscape (KJL) did an AMAZING job. We HIGHLY recommend them. Our property needed a complete makeover due to aging, original landscaping and water intrusion in the crawlspace. KJL developed a beautiful plan for our yard. They thoroughly removed the old landscaping, including properly finishing the tree stump removal that a nationally-known firm left incomplete and concealed. KJL expertly regraded our property for good drainage and flow. They diligently solved water issues on the turf and from AC drains. KJL created big, beautiful flower beds, enriched with lots of new soil that they brought in. They also used timbers and stones to make attractive enclosures for our AC condensers and utilities. KJL is deeply experienced. Their crews were exceptional in that they NEVER cut corners. All work was done thoroughly with detail and quality. Our neighbors have been very complimentary of KJL's work and asked for KJL to do work on their properties. We're already planning our next project with KJL. We're very pleased with their work."

"We hired Divine Lightscapes several years ago to install our lighting. His advice was excellent, price was reasonable and we continue to love the effect. There has never been a problem with the system. But one of the best services of Divine Lightscapes is the continued customer service that we have experienced for repairs from damage done by other vendors or acts of nature. Tim Snyder personally responds promptly and it gets fixed at a very low repair price. We highly recommend Tim Snyder of Divine Lightscapes."

"I found Jose on Angie's List on 5/08/20 as we needed a repair done to one of our damaged sprinkler heads. The service that we had been using was to have come out on Monday, 5/04/20, but never showed up. By the end of that week and still no word from my original irrigation company, I decided to call Jose. He called me back right away! Within 90 minutes he was at our home and made the repair quickly. Jose is friendly and willing to work. He will definitely get our business again in the future! I highly recommend him to others needing landscaping or irrigation services."

"They did great job with my yard, along with mowing and edging they cut the hedges and made the curb appeal more amazing I would highly recommend their services."
The cost to reseed or overseed a lawn is about $1,050 on average, ranging from $450 to $1,700, depending on lawn size, seed type, and location. Popular seed types for residential lawns include bahia, fescue, and Bermuda. Keep in mind that it costs $0.10 to $0.20 per square foot to seed or overseed a lawn. Additional cost factors may include:
Fertilization: $80–$400
Soil testing: $700–$2,100
Yard cleanup and leaf removal: $200–$560
Treating weeds: $110–$325
Mowing: $50–$210
On average, the cost of lawn fertilization is $250, ranging from $80 to $400, depending on the size of the lawn, its current condition, additional treatments, number of applications, fertilizer type, and location. Keep in mind that labor, tools, and equipment make up 80% to 90% of the total cost of lawn fertilization. Additional lawn treatment options include:
Lime treatment: $100–$150 per 1,000 square feet
Crabgrass treatment: $30–$80
Grub treatment: $30–$80
Mulching: $150–$400
Dethatching: $265–$295
Landscapers typically charge $25 to $50 per person per hour, which equals around $50 to $100 per hour for a two-person crew. These rates can vary depending on your location, the size of staff needed for the job, and overall job type. For example, a larger crew will be needed for structural additions and hardscaping versus planting flowers.
When it comes to landscapers, licensing laws vary. Landscaping architects are required to be licensed in all 50 states, whereas traditional landscaping contractors are not typically required to hold a certification. You’ll likely be working with a landscaping contractor for most residential projects. If you are redesigning your whole yard or adding in hardscape features, you will work with a landscaping architect at some point during the project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local landscaper guidelines.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Landscaping costs around $3,500 but varies widely from $200 to $14,000. Factors that play a part in your final landscaping price tag include:
Location
Yard size
Project size
Materials
Land preparation
Type of landscaping
Considering so many factors, it’s not surprising that the overall costs can differ. A typical landscaping project is flower bed installation, which averages between $800 and $3,000. However, landscape lighting installation is a higher-end project, with a price tag of $2,000 to $6,000.
