"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"Junior and his team are simply SPECTACULAR. They are professional, honest, prompt, and thorough, and whether you need interior painting, exterior painting, drywall repair, or staining, the quality of their work is far superior to the competition. If you have an older house like ours with cracks and sags in the ceilings and walls, he will leave it looking brand new without a single imperfection and with an absolutely smooth surface of paint. I would like to add to what I said there by describing the quality of his work on a recent job that involved renovating our oak staircase. The sanding involved the use of both a small electrical sander and hand sanding to ensure that every area of the steps – the tread, riser, newel post, inner and outer string, balusters, and fascia – was completely and evenly sanded. He repaired damage to the wood in various areas of the steps making them look new. We decided to have the treads stained red mahogany and the strings, risers, fascia, and balusters painted black. As usual, Junior used extreme care, including taping all areas that needed to be protected when painting the railing and risers so that the newly stained treads did not get paint on them. The combined effect of the staining and painting was spectacular. The stained treads look rich, even-colored, and like new. The oil-based black paint that was expertly applied to all of the other areas of the stairs highlights the beautiful wood grain. Junior did not leave a single paint drop anywhere, and the lines that divide, for example, the treads and risers, are razor sharp. In sum, if you have oak stairs (or any kind of stairs) that you value and want expertly and beautifully refinished, stained, and/or painted, Junior is your man. I would not trust my stairs to anyone else."

All of this was accomplished long distance, as we were in the process of moving to NC from PA, a 9 hour distance away from our new home.

We took a leap of faith with John and the results were outstanding!

John answered our request for service promptly, went to see the job with our relator, asked multiple questions and also provided extremely helpful suggestions on how to best approach the job. His estimate was very fair and he stayed right in budget, no surprises.

Even with an extremely tight time frame for the work to be completed, John immediately made us feel that we were in good hands.

John also had to work around other specialties (painters, flooring pros) as we were having other work done at the same time. The work was completed right on time, as promised.

We could not be more pleased with the results. The end product matched the vision of how our house would look. We were able to move right in and begin enjoying our new home.

"We impulsively purchased an old log home suffering from neglect. The
damage was much worse than we thought; we even had one contractor advise
us to tear it down and start over.
Clarence Gant, owner of Cand D Custom Log Finishing did not even blink. He and his crew dove in and spent several months putting our poor old house into good order.
The previous owner had painted all the logs a glossy brown enamel (to hide all the Bondo he had packed in to cover the rot!) and Clarence and his crew carefully sanded, stained and re-chinked our 2,300 Sq. Ft. house, replacing logs and railings as needed. This in itself was not small task, as the logs were of random sizes so the replacements had to be planed to fit.
They sanded, caulked, and painted the porch floors and ceilings, including even the screen porch ceiling, which peaks at about 20'.
They also arranged for a sub-contractor to replace a 12'x40' concrete slab porch on one side of the house. Clarence and his crew built concrete piers under the new slab to support it.
An unexpected problem occurred when they had to power-wash a board-and-batten addition (1950's), two large rooms off one corner of the house. When they started the power wash, the water came streaming through all the microscopic cracks in the wood! So they carefully caulked the whole addition and we have not had any more problems (or bats in the bedroom, for that matter!)
I cannot say enough good things about Clarence Gant and Cand D Custom Log Finishing. Without them, we would not have the beautiful, and much less drafty, log home we love so much. Thank you, Clarence and everyone for saving our house!"
