"Complete kitchen remodel. Anyone who walks in for the first time says, "Wow." That's the best compliment a company can get. Just seeing our kitchen has lead to many additional customers for American Wood Reface. Professional, timely, and talented. One neighbor said, "I can't believe they answer the phone and respond so quickly." In today's service market, that's hard to find. We also called them back to install 20 more cabinets throughout the house."

"Sergiy and his crew are great! I am remodeling my kitchen and they completed a handful of projects for me. They care about their work quality and are very professional. Sergiy was transparent with what work was being done and the associated costs. I would highly recommend Sergiy and his team!"

"We had a good experience with our handyman, Jay! He installed some closet shelves in our primary bedroom and installed a shelf in our laundry room, and both projects turned out pretty good! He was professional, punctual, knowledgeable, and paid close attention to every detail. His workmanship was really good, and he made sure everything was sturdy, level, and finished with care. He also cleaned up after the job was completed, which we greatly appreciated. It’s refreshing to find a reliable, dependable and skillful handyman. We are pleased with the results and will definitely call him again for future projects. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality craftsmanship and good service!"

Woodworking questions, answered by experts

Hiring a woodworker can be expensive, depending on the job, but it’s very often well worth the investment. Woodworkers are able to provide custom pieces of furniture and handmade construction to present a finished product that is exactly to your specifications. If you have a specific vision for a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture or home feature, the cost of hiring a professional woodworker is worthwhile. Plus, you’ll often get a higher quality product than what you could buy in stores for a fraction of the price.

If you don’t have a power saw with a blade where you can adjust the angle, you could use a miter box and hand saw to make the cuts. The miter box contains wide slots to support the piece of baseboard and other narrow slots to accommodate the blade of the hand saw. However, it’s tough to make non-standard cuts beyond 30 or 45 degrees when using a miter box.

Board and batten is a type of wainscotting that uses wider boards that are placed vertically, and it has a much more rustic aesthetic than wainscotting. Common wainscotting styles are raised-panel, flat-panel, and beadboard. Wainscotting is more intricate and will typically use more elegant, subtle trims compared to the more farmhouse-inspired boards of board and batten styles.

The pro you need to hire to build your shed depends on the shed you purchase. A local handyman or general contractor can help build a prefab shed for you. However, if you’re looking for a custom shed, contacting a shed builder near you is the best option. Make sure you get quotes from 3 pros to decide on the best pro for your job.

Landscape timbers can last 10 to 20 years in the ground when installed correctly. Pressure-treated timbers will last longer than non-treated ones, as pressure treatment makes the wood more rot-resistant. Wood exposed to high moisture levels or extreme temperature and weather fluctuations may not last as long as wood in drier areas with more consistent weather.
