"We are most pleased with our beautifully cleaned house. It was looking grungy and full of spider webs. Now it shines. We appreciated the thoroughness and neatness of each of the men."

"Paul was such a great guy and so easy to work with. He cleaned my roof while I was out of town and I paid him when I returned. He was very trusting. My neighbors told me he worked on the roof for over four hours and did a very thorough job. My roof looks great. I would highly recommend Paul's Soft Wash."

"The crew at Idyle’s Painting & Home Restoration removed our old porch, and replaced it with a beautiful new deck. They are exceptionally hard-working men as well as friendly & caring individuals who go above and beyond when they see a need. Their work and attention to detail is outstanding. Ryan is dedicated to doing the best job possible & is rightly proud of the work they do. I highly recommend & would definitely hire them again."

"Chris was great! He gave me a clear estimate of when he would arrive and the cost of the job, explained what he was going to do and did the job. It took maybe one hour and the house looks fabulous! Also, I didn't hire him to clean my windows but I removed the screens before he washed the house and I got the added benefit of a wash down of the outside of the windows and exterior window sills. I'm happy!"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, deck pier blocks can be used as an alternative to traditional deck footings, especially for smaller or low-to-the-ground decks. Unlike poured concrete and buried post footings, deck blocks do not require digging or pouring. However, their use is dependent on local building codes. Some areas, particularly those prone to high winds, earthquakes, or hurricanes, may not permit the use of deck pier blocks. It is essential to consult your local building codes before choosing them for your deck project.

Materials for a second-story deck must be weather- and rot-resistant, though the specific choices will largely be determined by your budget and style preference. Pressure-treated wood is on the lower end of the price scale, but it can be customized and stained the way you like it. Composite, on the other hand, is pricier for installation and has fewer options for customization, but you’ll save money and time in the long run because it requires little maintenance.

With proper installation and maintenance, a vinyl deck can last up to 30 years. Factors like regular cleaning, minimal wear and tear, proper installation, and the use of higher-grade materials can extend its durability. However, extreme weather conditions or neglecting maintenance might shorten its lifespan. Adhering to manufacturer recommendations for care and occasional inspections can significantly prolong a vinyl deck's longevity.

There are several methods for attaching stair stringers to a deck. The best way is to bolt the stringers to the deck joists using three carriage bolts in a triangular pattern. This method offers the sturdiest fit for stairs that won’t budge. Alternatively, attach the stringers to the deck rims using lag bolts or to the posts using adjustable slope hangers.

Your deck may pop, and your neighbor’s deck may not for a number of reasons. Whether or not a deck pops will depend on how it was made, the conditions it’s exposed to, and the materials. Improper spacing is a common reason for increased pressure between deck boards. Moisture penetration is another.
