"He arrived at my home quickly and quoted me a price. I felt it was too high so I suggested a lower price and we met in the middle. I accidentally wrote the check for 5 dollars higher than we agreed. Upon leaving I asked if he would take the hospital twin bed spring out of my truck bed and add it to the haul and he said it would cost me more money. This bothered me since I gave him more money than we agreed and yet he would not take the bed spring without me giving him more money."

"Once again, Treelands delivered. Our yard (heavily wooded) needed major sprucing up, limb and dead tree removal. Mario and his team arrived on time and didn't stop until the work was finished. Pricing is fair and affordable. Treelands is a mainstay for us. Thanks, Mario and Team!"

Small jobs welcome

"I would recommend them for service. The pricing was fair for the job. I needed my old washer and dryer removed due to an inspection that is coming up soon. I called on a Sunday and he was there promptly on Monday IN THE RAIN nonetheless... 🤯. Give them your business. They will do you right."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Lead toxicity comes from inhaling lead or consuming it. Before the 1980s, when the government banned lead from consumer use, it could be found in paint, plumbing, pipes, ceramics, and even gasoline. Lead paint is toxic for the same reason lead itself is toxic, which is why lead poisoning from paint presents the same as lead poisoning from water or food sources, with a slight increase in respiratory symptoms vs. digestive symptoms. Lead paint is most dangerous when it’s old and peeling, cracking, or otherwise disturbed. This increases the concentration in the air and, therefore, in breathable air.

If the lead paint is in a place that is not easily disturbed and is not flaking or deteriorating, you do not necessarily need to remove it. Lead is toxic when dust particles or flakes from peeling lead paint are ingested. If people are not in the area with the lead paint, it may be safe to leave it in place. You still may want to consider encapsulation with a paint formulated for covering lead-based paint, just for an added layer of protection.

It is safe to remove old linoleum, but it may require the help of a specialist due to the risk of asbestos in the material. Before you cut into linoleum or try to peel it up, have it tested for asbestos. If it tests positive, professionals will need to remove it to prevent the risk of health issues from airborne toxic particles. If it’s asbestos-free, DIY removal is possible and safe.

If your roof was constructed between 1930 and 1970, there’s a possibility that the shingles contain asbestos. If that’s the case, you should hire a professional for repairs and replacement, as they’ll have the necessary equipment to stay safe from such a hazardous and cancer-causing substance. If your home was constructed after this period, it’s unlikely that the shingles in place are toxic. In most cases, asbestos shingles are not recyclable, while standard asphalt shingles are recyclable.

The best way to remove lead paint is by wet hand sanding and removing all dust and residue with a HEPA vacuum. Professionals may also strip and scrape lead-based paint with a paint scraper. In some cases, you may choose to have a pro encapsulate or enclose your lead-based paint surface by covering it with a sealant or a new material. You may also choose to replace the material altogether.
