"Pest control can be a difficult service to assess, except in cases of a known pest that is eliminated and where demonstrable proof of efficacy is shown. While the agent servicing our particular problem (moles) is cordial and knowledgeable, we will have to wait for a period to see if treatment was effective."

"Ricardo, and his fantastic crew came to my home for termite control, and crawl space repair. They were very polite, easily answered all my questions, and worked very hard to get job done, in a timely manner. This was a large project they took in, and did it in record time. I would give 10 stars if allowed. Hiring CS Conditioner, out of Washington, NC, will solve all your projects, and needs for termite control and crawl space repair. 100% recommended. "Our dryer vent is long and not accesssible for owner cleaning without very specialized equipment -- we needed a pro for the job.  This provider was prompt, courteous, explained what he was doing and offered tips for better maintenance.  I would certainly recommend this company to others.

Pest Control questions, answered by experts

Bed bugs typically live between 10 months to one year, but they lay enough eggs that an infestation can continue to multiply and worsen without professional intervention. These pests can survive up to one year without eating, so you can’t expect a bed bug infestation to resolve without proper treatment.

Grass spiders, also known as funnel-web spiders, are the culprits here, building small webs directly into the grass to catch any insects that have the misfortune of crawling too close. They are often confused with wolf spiders, as the two species look nearly identical, but grass spiders are actually great helpers in maintaining your lawn.

The time it takes for termites to damage a house varies, but it generally does not happen within days or weeks. Significant structural damage typically takes several months or years to occur, with serious damage often taking 3 to 8 years. The rate of destruction depends on factors like the termite colony's size and maturity, the type of wood they are feeding on, and local conditions. It can take 3 to 5 years for damage to become visible and 5 to 6 years for the home's structural integrity to be compromised. However, some species, such as Subterranean termites, are more destructive and can cause extensive damage in as little as 2 years. Because of this risk, it is important to treat your home as soon as you notice any signs of termites.

Woodpeckers may seek out homes with aluminum siding or tin roofs because these surfaces echo their drumming. Homes with wood siding are more frequently targeted as roosting areas or for food sources. If you have insects living in the exposed wood in your home, the birds are likely looking for a snack, in which case your best option is to hire an exterminator.

Even if you have extreme ophidiophobia (fear of snakes), don’t try to shoot or kill them with a shovel. Besides being pretty cruel, killing snakes in most states is illegal unless your life is at risk and many species are protected.

Plus, you're putting yourself at greater risk using these techniques if it goes wrong and the now-angry snake is venomous.
