We are a local plumbing company service if the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We are a smallChristian, family oriented, company rooted in the community dedicated to providing quantity affordable services.

"I wouldn't have chosen this company based on other's reviews, but our house came with an AHS warranty so decided to use that instead of my own time clearing a couple of backed up toilets and checking on water in the crawlspace. The kid that showed up was obviously not used to communicating with people and seemed to have very little experience. I told him the toilets will probably need augered so he did this and the toilets were able to flush. He expended little effort investigating the leak (that we knew was down in the crawlspace by a previous inspection) and his only response was "looks good". 24 hours later our toilet is backed up again after only having liquids in it and he refuses to come back out. I don't really think he has the experience to do much other than auger a toilet, which anyone can do but Lockhart is contracted out by AHS so people get stuck with them. Read the reviews and if you have the ability to pick your own plumber I would highly recommend it."

"BUYER BEWARE Old Generator was replaced as contracted. Need to understand that GRE only installs the generator box. I learned the hard way that homeowner needs to worry about gas hookup, the electrical switchover connections and if the house gets enough power from the generator when you loose electricity. Getting the unit to function right required multiple visits which should have been done/tested during install: 0. After GRE installed the generator and said good to go.... 1. Gas company came to connect the generator - how can you say job is done if gas not connected and tested? Gas company just connects pipe they don't test the generator. Generator did not work after gas company left. 2. Install right size regulator on the generator - which GRE did after calling to say the generator didn't work. I was told they did me a favor by replacing it and that gas company should have done that. 3. Install internal gas orifice connector for Propane versus natural gas (this connector comes with the generator) - which GRE did during regulator install. Again I was told they did me a favor putting the right orifice connector on. How do you not know to do this during install with propane tank cover sitting 30 feet away from generator 4. Tests to see if generator worked. After multiple storms house power did not switch over. Had electrician out multiple times to test switch over. Switchover worked during these visits. However, after a storm, house did not get enough power. 5. Throughout the last 3 years each time we called with a concern about house not getting power after a storm we were told we needed to buy an annual service contract. To which we said no thanks we would get the unit serviced as needed. Also reminded that as long as generator turned on they were done and it was my problem. 6. Final straw was we contacted GRE stating that Generator Service light was on. Told it would require a diagnostic charge of $250 and if service was needed it would be an additional $450. I have the text from the tech! Paid the $250 up front. He shows up, proceeds to tell me it needs service and that he wasn't prepared to do it. In addition, he rehashes the last 3 years blames our contractor and calls me a liar about our experiences with the generator. Then leaves saying get someone else to service the generator. I consider myself a very reasonable person. I just want the $13,000+ generator unit to function properly after we loose power. Early on I was surprised by the attitude that It was my problem after the box was bolted to the cement. I appreciated BRE fixing the regulator and installing the propane adapter after learning the parts were wrong. But the professionalism went down hill every time I said I didn't want a maintenance contract. I was willing to pay for the service today but was called arrogant and a liar by the tech! Buyer beware."

"Work has been scheduled for early in 2019, but they could not have been more helpful and professional in explaining our options, how our home would get the most out of the panels, and how much we are likely to save. They were explicit about costs and available rebates. We were instructed to apply for a rebate from our local energy supplier and they literally walked us through the time specific rebate procedure. We made some minor changes to their standard contract and they accepted those changes without question. I can only assume their work will be up to these standards when we do the actual installation."

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

If you’re deciding between a solar battery versus a generator for the best backup power solution, you can take a few factors into consideration. Solar batteries are quiet while generators can be quite loud. Generators have a lower up-front cost, but they require fuel and ongoing maintenance while solar batteries are more expensive but don’t have many ongoing costs.

In almost every case, solar panels need to be removed to replace roof shingles. In some cases, such as solar installations where the panels are on raised platforms above the roof surface, installers may be able to install new shingles without removing the solar installation. However, to get a quality roofing installation, panels need to come off. Most roofing contractors won’t remove or reinstall solar panels as part of a roofing project, so you’ll need to contact your solar provider.

Yes, you have to get on the roof to cut a hole for solar tubing. It's not possible to complete the job from inside your house by simply cutting through the ceiling. So if you want to go the DIY route, remember to use safe ladder practices. If you’re not comfortable climbing on your roof to install solar tubes, hire a pro who has the tools and expertise to do the job safely.

The best way to save money on solar panels is to take advantage of federal and state solar incentives. For example, the solar investment tax credit (ITC) offered by the federal government can save 30% of your total—if you can take the entire credit, which is based on income taxes owed—or an average of around $9,000. You can check the Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE) for state and local incentives that could save you even more.

The average homeowner needs around 22 solar panels, but the exact number depends on your monthly energy consumption. Your solar professional should size your array to offset your consumption, meaning you’ll need fewer panels if you use below-average amounts of electricity, or more than 22 if you use above-average amounts of electricity. The number of panels also depends on the output of each panel. The average is around 400 watts, but you might need more panels if you install less capable equipment. Since there are so many variables, you should have a professional size your system.
