"Jesus was very professional from the beginning. He came to our home to quote the empty flower bed. Planting our flowers, provide and install plastic to prevent weeds, river rock (he even brought samples at time of quote), Rip Rap rock. We also requested a quote for our rear yard full of contractor grass to dig up, replant with bermuda to match sod, dig a drainage ditch for run-off, and make an area in preparation of our shed delivery with plastic and rock foundation. After some negotiation, he was awarded both jobs. He was able to do the job within a one week start with 50% down and paid upon completion. He and his brother worked till dark, but completed the job in a timely fashion. They were a non-smoking crew which was very appeasing with our standards of many contractors leaving cigarette butts around. We will be calling him back for our shed landscaping! Wish I could post photos."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Once cracks appear, it is hard to stop tiles from cracking more. If the cause of the problem is improper subflooring, underlying concrete, improper tile joint sizes, mold growth, or structural issues, the only way to stop floor tiles from cracking is to redo the entire floor, fixing the underlying issues first. If cracks occur after impact damage, hiring a professional tile contractor to replace the cracked tiles, fix loose floor tiles, and restore the grout around them can prevent further damage. It is also important to keep your tile and grout clean and maintained to prolong its life.

It’s easiest to start from an edge as it gives you a straight line. A problem may arise if your edge doesn’t line up perfectly, in which case it’s best to start from the center. Some think that starting tile from the center adds a focal point in the center of the hearth.

The lifespan of tile flooring can vary significantly based on the material and maintenance. Generally, tile flooring can last anywhere from 10 to 30 years, but high-quality, well-maintained ceramic tile can last 75 to 100 years. To achieve a longer lifespan, you should clean the tiles and grout regularly, reseal the grout annually, keep the floor dry, and avoid placing extremely heavy items on it to prevent cracking. Choosing a high-quality tile (Grade 1) will also contribute to its longevity.

Technically, you can start tiling in a corner and work your way out. However, it's not traditionally how tiling is done. Instead, work from the bottom middle of the wall. Tile out the entire row with whole tiles before moving on to the next row. Once you finish installing all of the whole tiles, then you focus on tiling the corners.

Yes, even if you’re being careful, removing tile can damage your drywall to some degree. However, you can minimize the damage done to it by eliminating a majority of the grout and taking your time prying each tile off. Also, it's worth noting that you might have more drywall damages to deal with if your tile is set into the mortar.
