"Second time I called this company in for the same problem. They had to direct the city of Portsmouth as to where the problem was. It took a while but when Portsmouth finally showed up, they had replaced the damaged clean out that Portsmouth couldn't use the first call but insured the total repair was better than ever. "We read some very good reviews for Mike and decided to contact him for an estimate for a bathroom remodel job we are planning to do. Mike was very quick to respond to our our inquiry through Angie's list, within an hour or two at the most. It took a week or so to sort out the date him to come and look at the site and get the inforamtion and discuss what we wanted done. He was very professional and knowledgeable and very friendly as well. He should get back with us in the morning with the estimate and we are looking forward to see what it will be. When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

"Due to the many complexities of replacing a toilet flange, it is typically a job best left to the pros," says Jeff Botelho, Angi Expert Review Board member and plumber. "Many times it isn't as simple and straightforward as 'pop off the old one and pop on a new one' because the flange is either glued on (PVC/ABS), soldered on (brass/copper), or caulked in place with a lead & oakum joint (cast iron) and none of these things can be easily reversed without years of training and repetitive practice."

To drain a broken toilet, place towels or plastic sheeting around the base in case of splashing or overflowing. Next, shut off the toilet’s water supply, usually via a valve on the wall behind the toilet. Begin flushing the handle to remove as much water as possible from the tank and the bowl. Don’t flush the toilet if it’s clogged, though. From there, use a large sponge to soak up any remaining water and wring it over a bucket. 

According to the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), the distance between your trap and the vent should be no more than 6 feet. For your vent to work properly, it needs to feed into the drain line within 6 feet of trapways that connect to it. Using this formula, you should be able to determine whether you will need multiple vent lines.
