"They came on a Saturday and diagnosed the problem at no cost. Then they saved us over $1700 by finding a replacement motor and controller and not buying it from Bryant/Carrier. They found one nearby and installed it on Monday. We had originally contacted one of the larger, established local firms who charged us just to diagnose the problem and wanted to order the OEM replacement. Even just replacing just the controller that way would have cost double what the motor-controller combo cost using All About. The markups on these parts is just ridiculous. All About Heat & Air earned my future business."

"Office staff was very prompt in scheduling the estimate appointment and keeping us posted as to schedule. Estimator, David, arrived promptly, and his inspection was thorough. He was very interested in giving us the most cost effective yet appropriate system and was very clear in his explanations of the features he deemed necessary. The written estimate was sent promptly, and the installation appointment was set up immediately. Communication throughout was excellent. The efficient and courteous office staff kept us posted every step of the way. There were no changes or delays. Installers arrived promptly and work was completed within the time frame estimated. Before leaving, they made sure we understood how to work the thermostat and were available to answer any questsions throughout the installation process. David also arrived at the beginning and reviewed the procedure and follow up expectations. Greg and John were very neat and clean, not only in the house but outside in the area they needed as work space. The following day, work was rechecked by Charles and appointments for final CO check by city inspector and Progress Energy were set up. This was a very pleasant and thoroughly professional experience in every way, and we are very satisfied."

"We use Shear Comfort to perform routine maintenance on our units. This year they discovered the coil in the second level air handler was rusting badly and had developed a freon leak. Since the system used the old freon, which is getting expensive, and I had concerns about the compressor unit's long-term health, we opted to replace the system. The price we were quoted was reasonable considering the equipment and installation.
Unfortunately, I was going on an extended business trip and was not going to be home when we scheduled installation. To further complicate matters, my wife's office is directly underneath whether the second level air handler resides in the attic, and the attic access is in her office.
Shear Comfort showed up as promised, and did the installation with no disruption to my wife's work. She reported to me that she really did not notice them working above her, and considering she spends a reasonable amount of time on the phone, that says something. They completed the work as expected and the system was back up and running.
When I returned home I inspected the work. If I had not known the air handler had been replaced, I would not have known any work had been done. The attic was neat, the work well done, and everything else left in as good or better condition than it was when I left. Same for the area around the compressor unit outside.
Everything was first rate, they showed up as promised (around here, that is rare enough to be unusual), they used quality equipment, the price was good, and I know from past experience they stand behind their work. Shear Comfort long ago earned my loyalty, and they reinforced that during this job.
I only wish their service area extended to my mother-in-law, who is 450 miles away!

"Had a great experience with Cool Cat . The technician was professional, on time, and quickly diagnosed the issue. They explained everything clearly and got the unit running like new again. Pricing was fair and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend for anyone needing reliable HVAC service!"

Common repairs for central vacuum cleaners include motor repair, electrical repair, and blocked filters. Central vacuum motor issues typically come with a burning smell and loss of suction. With these issues, you might need simple lubrication to keep it running smoothly, or for more extreme problems, you could need a motor replacement.
Electrical problems or losing suction strength, might be reasons to swap out electrical components for new ones. However, a local central vacuum repair professional can tell you the best plan of action for your system.
The average cost for central vacuum cleaner repair is $310, though prices can range from $120 to $500. Your total cost will depend on the type of repair needed and the type of central vacuum you own.
A minor motor repair, like lubrication, only costs around $50. However, if you need to replace your motor, you’ll be looking at a much higher price tag with a total of $100 to $500. Other fixes, like electrical work, are charged by the hour, which ranges from $15 to $55 per hour.
A central vacuum system can last between 10 and 20 years if maintained properly. The frequency of use and amount of maintenance dictate its lifespan. These central systems last significantly longer than portable vacuum cleaners, which last 8 to 10 years on average. Keep your central vacuum system in good condition by checking the hose, wand, and attachments for clogs and emptying the debris bag regularly.
The average cost to hire an HVAC contractor is between $50 and $150 per hour if charging hourly. However, some HVAC contractors will charge a flat fee by the type of service they are performing—for example, an inspection can cost between $150 to $500. Keep in mind that emergency repairs—which are made after business hours or around major holidays—generally cost more than scheduled repairs.
Yes, most states require HVAC technicians to be certified, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed HVAC technician could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
