"These guys did an outstanding job painting our den, stairs and upper landing. Bryan was very easy to deal with and a great communicator in helping with our questions and making sure our needs were met. They spent almost as much time prepping the walls as they did painting, and boy does it show in the end. It looks freshly painted, but it also looks brand new. They were also in and out in 1 day. I highly recommend that you give these guys a call if you need some quality painting done by a professional crew. 5 stars!"

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Two types of masonry are veneer masonry and solid masonry. Veneer masonry is thin brick or stone material attached to the face of a building. With veneer masonry, the walls support the weight of the masonry products rather than the masonry being built on a concrete footing. Solid masonry is a wall or other brick or stone structure built on a concrete footing, and the masonry supports itself.

Costs range from $3,500 to $15,000, depending on material, labor, and design complexity.

You can use a regular drill to make pilot holes for gutter brackets in the wooden fascia board around the top of your house, but it’s not the best tool for brick. Instead, you’ll need a heavy-duty power tool like a hammer drill with a carbide tip bit.

Brick and stone are durable, low-maintenance materials for siding and walls that offer excellent insulation, aesthetic appeal, and can increase property value.

Yes, you can limewash surfaces other than brick. Plaster, stone, stucco, and concrete can all also be limewashed. Any porous surface that will absorb the wash is a good candidate for limewash, although it won’t help much with waterproofing. If you choose to limewash over paint, you’ll need to prep before applying it to avoid a powdery, chalky finish. Shiny surfaces like metal or glass can’t absorb limewash, so it’s not suited for these.
