"Bill and Billy were very professional and efficient with the projects I had at my home. They built me and 2 car garage and deck off the back of my house. Pricing was very fair and the quality of their work was top notch. They're family owned and operated. I highly recommend them as a general contractor and builder for any home projects."

"EXCELLENT craftsmanship. Super high quality work. Very communicative - never ghosted us or left us in the dark. Five stars on all of that!! The only reason I don't give 5 stars overall is the timeline. We were originally quoted 8-10 weeks for our screened porch and it took a lot longer. There were things out of his control that contributed to that, so we understood. And again, he kept us in the loop. He also built us a new shed during that time and that slowed down the progress of the porch as well. We loved Calvin and would be happy to have him do more work for us."

"Honestly, I cannot possibly imagine any contractor as professional and detail oriented as Bray Builders. Their attention to detail and stern refusal to compromise on quality is outstanding and their design ideas are mind-blowing. In short, this is one contractor that you will never regret hiring."

"I recently used J Mozeley Interiors to bring some new life to my kitchen and living room in second home and was blown away with the work!  Julian went above and beyond all my expecations when helping me re-design the two areas. Both the living room and kitchen seemed out dated to me and Julian was able to incorporate my interest in the outdoors and lake life to give me areas that I now love spedning time in! Everyone of my friends that visit  love the feel of my home and are taken back by all the neat, creative decorating ideas she used. She also worked great with our budget and provided me with a great subcontractor for my cabinets. Julian was a pleasure to work with in all areas of the job from start to finish and handled the tasks with the upmost professionalism. I would recommend J Mozeley Interiors to anyone and will use her again in the near future as I re-do my basement into a recreational room!

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Stone, marble, and brick are common building materials of Neoclassical architecture, though you will also find wood flooring and a range of natural stone tiles. Since several home styles fall under Neoclassical architects' umbrella, a range of building materials—including traditional wood framing—will make an appearance.

No, it’s not legal for unlicensed individuals to conduct structural calculations for buildings or building repairs. Not only do licensing requirements prevent DIYers from tackling this project, but mistakes can also be extremely dangerous and put your property and anyone inside or near it at risk of severe injury or even death. You should always hire a licensed and certified local structural engineer to make structural calculations.

It is technically possible to draw your own blueprints, but the process is extremely involved and really demands help from an expert. A professional architect has an understanding of design elements, interior design, the functionality of different rooms in a home, and how everything from furniture, outlets, and light switches should be laid out to serve you and your family best. Hiring an architect for blueprints can get expensive, but it’s the most responsible way to begin a new construction project. If you’re keen on DIYing, you could consider starting the process and then having a professional take over.

Custom homes can take an average of 18 months to build, mainly due to the lengthy design process, and most projects take somewhere between 12 and 24 months. When you work with the right custom home builders near you, they can help you map the road ahead and understand what can speed up or delay the timeline. Choosing locally available materials, for example, can speed things up without losing that customized touch.
