Customers say: Quality work

"I couldn't be happier! They did a great job on my privacy fence replacement. This is a screwed together stick built fence, not a big box store prefabbed panel fence. Quality is top notch and should last for many years!"

"The men who installed the fence were very skilled and fast. They did miss fully nailing one post, and although I emailed co asking for them to correct, I have not received a response."

"I needed a couple split rail fence posts replaced. Arranged w/Zac to get it done. Communication was super from the start, and he showed up when promised, had what he needed to do the job, cleaned up afterward and my fence posts look great. I will hire him again. Thanks Zac."

"Fence installed by Mr. Sizemore alone. He had no crew. Said we did not need survey - having to survey again because new tenants in the new house next to our property line saying fence on their property (in some places) but no problem with them?!?. Lot of left over fencing and cement which we paid for but gave to Mr. Sizemore to move from our property. Plat of fencing and plat of cement left and approximately 20 bags of cement was rained on. Fence not installed the length we paid for so we lost money!!!!!! He was to do another project for us to replace wood under carport which we paid him an additional 600.00 to do and he used old vinyl siding already there saying he did not know anything about siding. He supposedly replace the top with the right boards? Used stain he had left over from another project which was not the color we were supposed to have because he said the heat ruined left over stain from the fencing. Now the siding trim is falling down - not a professional job at all. He is a good person but needs help with his business. Said he was trying to get help but no one wants to work!! He did a professional job with the fencing that he did install but we lost money!!! If on neighbor’s property, fencing will have to be removed!!! A potential issue Nightmare!!!"

"They did the deck and they also extended our fence by two or three panels putting a gate on the end. The work was pretty expensive for what they did. It took about a month 1/2 or two months. It took ridiculously long. First they built the deck and then they had a huge problem with ordering materials for the gate. They told us they were getting the run around from the fencing company. I understand they were going through another company to order the materials for the fence. It was a real fiasco. Finally they did get the material and they said they could get a subcontractor to build us a piece for the fence but it would not match. I said no I would much rather wait a couple of weeks to get it right. So we did. The project did end up taking much longer. The deck looks wonderful but the fence we are not too impressed with. They did not really level the pieces they put on so they are crooked. The door to the fence does not really match up with the height of the post to work with the latch. We have problems with it and it just does not work right. They really did not follow up. We had to call them all the time. They did not ever call us. Overall we did not have that great of an experience with them. The deck does look great though. They are not a fencing company. The name says it all; they are pros at decks. I do not feel they should not accept jobs that they could not deliver. As far as accepting the fence part of the job they should not have done that. They should have referred us to a fencing company. That was our main pet peeve about them. The deck I would rate as an A but the fence I would give a C. It is not a cookie cutter square deck. At the first consultation they gave us a lot of suggestions for how to design our deck with an odd shaped back yard. They made it very custom and something that would really meet our needs. That is something I really appreciated."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

You can sometimes install a fence over a gas line. Fence installation typically requires a two-foot depth for posts, so if the lines are shallower than two feet, you cannot put a fence post over the line. You’ll need to call 811 to get the gas lines located and marked before you start the project.

A high-quality wrought iron fence is one of the most durable options available and can last a lifetime, or even centuries, with proper care. However, wrought iron is susceptible to rust and corrosion if not maintained.

To maximize its lifespan, regular maintenance is required. This includes:

  • Cleaning the fence with soapy water every six months.

  • Scrubbing away any rust or corrosion as soon as it appears.

  • Applying a new coat of paint or refinishing the fence every few years to protect the metal from moisture and oxygen. The recommended frequency varies, with sources suggesting anywhere from every 1 to 10 years.

If significant rust develops, it's wise to hire a professional fence repair company to clean the rust and reseal the fence. The cost to refinish a fence is typically between $5 and $12 per square foot, a worthwhile investment to ensure its longevity.

Of all the fencing options, the cheapest type is a repurposed pallet fence because it’s made of used materials that are easy to find for free. But if you’re not interested in the DIY game, customize a covered chain link fence or a plain wood fence to provide the best privacy possible.

Corrugated metal is a strong, long-lasting material. A corrugated metal fence will typically last several decades, and the metal panels themselves may last for 40 to 60 years. The main thing you should be concerned about is the fence posts. Wood fence posts will last about five years if you purchase them untreated or about 15 years if you treat them after installation. Keep an eye on your posts and look out for insect damage and rot.

There’s no definitive answer to this question because dog owners and experts are conflicted about the efficacy and morality of electric fences. However, physical fences are typically considered a better option since they provide guaranteed containment for your pup, provided they are tall enough, and your dog can’t dig under them. Physical fences can also provide privacy, which might stop your dog from barking at people or animals walking by. Physical dog fences tend to be more expensive, but most homeowners find them to be a better option overall.
