"We upgraded our master bathroom shower. Our installer Paul and his assistant tore the old shower out and took the walls half way up to the studs. They redid all the plumbing moved the drain in the floor and installed plywood where the wall board was removed. They then installed the new shower over the plywood caulked everything and installed grab bars shelfâ  s and a seat. The competed project was excellent. Paul and his assistant paid attention to detail and consulted with us on all phases of the installation. We are 100 percent with the finished project."

"Technician troubleshot unit and found the fan motor to be defective. He had to spin fan by hand to get it to turn. He also said the inducer motor bearings were noisy. He gave me a price of over $2000 to replace blower motor and inducer assembly. Unit is 23 year old Lennox so we discussed installing a new unit. Salesman came later that day and gave me estimates on several options. I came to my senses the next day and oiled the blower motor through both ports and thought about purchasing the inducer assembly and changing it myself. The unit is working fine and the inducer motor has even quieted down. I am thankful for Cape Fears assistance, but that is a lot of mark up."

"Tim was awesome. I have a couple different drains that were draining slowly and contacted Tim. He was able to come out the same day and take care if the issue completely. He even took the time to explain the process to me and what issues he found with the drains. I will definitely keep Tim in mind for all plumbing projects and will also recommend him to my friends!"

"Phillip arrived with one other person a little late coming from another job. When I first contacted Mckenzie's Plumbing informed the representative that I had a water leak on the top of the water heater along the top seamhwith rust lines running down the sides. However, the tech was told that he was coming to fix a pipe or fitting leak. So, they set up to drain the water heater and then had to leave and drive back to the warehouse to get a replacement water heater. When they returned both techs removed the old and set the new water heater in place. At that time the second person left when a friend came to pick him up leaving Phillip to finish the job. By this time it was getting late. It was around 5:30 or 6 pm when he left. It wasn't until the next day when I was in the back yard that I noticed that there was approximately 8" iinches of silver exhaust pipe (was painted black to match the shingles) with the storm coller that had been pushed up through the roof braking the water tight seal around the exhaust pipe and the roofs shingles. After further inspection I figured out that new water heater was taller then the old one so Phillip had to have knowingly pushed the exhaust pipe up with force through the roof, braking the roof seal around the storm collar in order to adjust it to the new water heaters height. Phillip did not perform a professional installation job. Had I not notice the problem I would have had a big water leak in the garage with ceiling (sheet rock) damage. Very unprofessional job that could have cost me $$$$ to fix!

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible for small systems like French drains. Professional installation ensures proper grading and long-term effectiveness.

There are a couple of similar alternatives you may consider for a sewage ejector pump, including a grinder pump or a submersible sump pump. Submersible sump pumps protect your home from flooding from outside water, though, rather than handling wastewater from inside. A grinder pump macerates, or shreds, solid waste before pumping it onward to the sewer line.

Yes, the air from a damp basement can travel up into your living area through a process called the stack effect, so moisture, mold spores, and other debris in your basement air can all decrease your indoor air quality on your main floors. Additionally, damp basements can promote the rotting of building materials, which can damage flooring, insulation, and framing on your first floor in addition to materials in the basement.

Preventing future basement flooding often involves installing sump pumps, improving drainage, sealing foundation cracks, and maintaining gutters. Costs vary, but preventive measures can range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars, depending on the solutions chosen. Investing in prevention can save you money on future flooded basement cleanup costs and repairs.

Your sump pump will discharge water through a discharge line or pipe. The discharge line should be placed at least 10–20 feet from the foundation to avoid any issues.
