"I'm going to try to be as objective as possible to help others avoid mistakes I made. Positives - cheaper than competitors. Appears responsive and reliable up until you provide a final payment. Negatives – Allan Moore will not come through on promises after he's been paid. It rained on the 4th day of installation and the water leaked through the roof and damaged the ceiling in 10 different places. Allan promised to fix it, we paid him in full. Never showed up to fix it. I followed up many times, then I gave up. We are now looking to hire someone to fix the damage. Allan gave us Lifetime Labor Warranty, but I wonder what good it is, if he’s not showing up to fix the mess he left to begin with! Allan left his trailer parked on our property for a month after the installation and only removed it after I got on his case about it. Allan also promised the certificate of material warranty will be provided at the time of the final payment – never saw it. He made it sound like he was ready to give us warranty on the day of completion and has it in his truck, took the check and right away told me he will email me the warranty instead of handing it in. I followed up many times and every time he told me he’s sending it “right now”, till this day never saw it. Allan appears to be a nice guy, he will respond to your messages, but offer numerous excuses like computer is fried, on a very important job; he can be in 3 different places within 30 minutes - at a conference, in the hospital, at the doctor's office. He'll also tell you he's doing it right now, or he mailed it 3 times. Well, if you mailed 3 letters, at least one of them would have gotten here, wouldn't it? If you hired Allan Moore to do the service, my advice to you would be not to provide a final payment until 1) all the damage to the premises has been fixed, 2) equipment has been removed from the property 2) you have all warranties in hand. Also, if you decide to work with Allan, specify in the contract a payment method (among other things) and if it’s a check, who it will be written to as he may ask you to write a final check in his name rather than a company name. Another important point to mention is you need stay on top of scheduling, a metal roof may take up to 6 days to complete, so if you see rain forecast within a week and you let them start the roof, there is a good chance you will end up with ceiling damage, like we did. I can’t speak to the quality at this time, we still have to fix the ceiling. I am hoping that they did a good job on the roof and we won't have any issues with it. I’ll update the review if needed."

Driveway Gates questions, answered by experts

Generally, the standard 10- to 12-inch-long and 1- to 1.5-inch-diameter gate springs will work. However, if you have an especially wide, thick, or heavy garden gate, you may need to opt for a longer, broader—and pricier—model to ensure secure closure and good longevity. These typically range between 12 and 16 inches long and are over 1.5 inches in diameter.

Security doors are not limited to standard sizes, and you can customize them to fit your needs and entryway dimensions. That's one of the fantastic things about security doors—they can be tailored to match your home. Keep in mind that a custom-sized security door will likely cost more than a standard size.

The obvious disadvantage of an automatic gate is that it runs on electricity. If the power goes out, it won’t open or close unless there’s a manual override. Many homeowners will need a backup generator so they don’t get stuck on either side of the gate, particularly when looking to park a vehicle. Automatic gates are also much more complicated than manual gates, with tech-heavy components that make them more expensive to repair.

A sliding gate, or a sliding gate door, is a versatile gate system used for various applications. Sliding gate mechanisms allow the gate to move horizontally along a track or guide system when opened or closed. They come in multiple types, including sliding folding gates, telescopic gates, cantilever gates, and track sliding gates. These gates are known for their durability, ease of installation, and user-friendly operation, making them popular for property access and security.

While entryways are seldom added to a house to increase the sale price, they are commonly constructed to increase the livability and enjoyment of a home. So, while they aren’t necessary, they do make for a more comfortable and luxurious-feeling home. Entryways are most valuable in areas of extreme heat, cold, or rain, as the space between the living area and the outdoors helps keep the outdoors outside. Plus, snow, wet boots, and mud are all corralled into one space that’s easy to clean.
