Emergency services offered

"My home has a chimney that was unsafe to use (cracked masonry liner). I dreaded the time and cost of a tear down and replacement. I contacted "Shamrock Chimney" and scheduled an appointment with their lead technician "Tony". He suggested a less costly and safer alternative (steel liner and a resealing of the outer brickwork. The work was performed over a two-day period. I am fully satisfied with the results. One thing I really apricate is the communication during the project. The "front office" would let me know by either phone or email when the project would start, and then Tony and would give me updates. All and all the whole process went smoothly. Also, this was my first time with "Angi", I hope to use their services again in the future."

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

Basic fireplace service takes one to two hours for standard sweeping and inspections. Complex repairs, like installing a chimney liner or repointing mortar, require one to two days. Gas conversions take up to three days. Schedule your service outside of the October through December peak season in Cary to avoid long wait times. Local permit inspections or post-storm surge demand will extend your project timeline.

Helpful?

Start by scheduling an immediate safety inspection for your gas log service setup before the first use. Verify that your carbon monoxide detectors meet current NC building codes. Assess your existing wood-burning fireplace to confirm firebox compatibility for a gas conversion. Finally, check the gas pressure and conduct a pre-season inspection every fall to ensure pilot assemblies remain clean and functional throughout the mild Cary winters.

Helpful?

Keep a flashlight and inspection mirror on hand to check your chimney cap for debris after frequent summer thunderstorms. A basic moisture meter helps detect water infiltration around the firebox caused by North Carolina’s high humidity. Store dedicated ash removal tools to support ongoing fireplace service. You must also maintain manual damper operation tools to verify seals are blocking out heavy spring pollen in Cary.

Helpful?

Properly maintaining your system provides reliable supplemental heat during Cary’s variable winters. Quality fireplace service prevents drafting problems that make your living space feel cold or smoke-filled. Well-sealed dampers and chimney caps block heavy spring pollen and high humidity from entering your home. A well-maintained fireplace also serves as a beautiful central feature that supports your property value in the competitive local real estate market.

Helpful?

Request emergency fireplace service if you smell gas, hear carbon monoxide alarms, or see smoke entering your living space. You must also schedule immediate inspections following any chimney fire or severe Cary ice storm. Routine sweeping and minor damper repairs safely wait for the off-season in late summer. Always book a comprehensive inspection before purchasing a new home to comply with North Carolina state regulations.
