They installed sod on my front yard, pruned trees and shrubs. Everything was done in a professional way. My yard looks amazing now! "It went great! Mr Moreau came out and did an awesome job! I originally planned for 1 day but it turned into a 2 day task as he had to move A LOT of dirt for us. We have gone from having a large unusable space in our back yard to doubling, if not tripling, the amount of usable level ground. This is much needed and reclaimed space. He even managed to smooth out a spot for a great big shed as well. Will highly recommend him and plan on hiring him again in the future for another project. Can't say enough great things about him."

"I have been using Dependable Landscaping for over a year and I could not be more complimentary of my services every single time we use them. From the amazing customer service to the affordable pricing, I’ve received several compliments over the last year on my landscaping. Dominic is always quick to respond, confirms upcoming service and has helped me with many services that I have been unable to perform myself. I could not recommend Dependable Landscaping enough for any and all needs. There is no job too big or too small that they cannot handle. Best in the business!"

"Great experience from the first visit with Murph to the installation a few days later by a great crew. Everything was done professionally and timely. Nothing was left behind. Additionally, The Sod Man added the landscape rocks, that was part of another project I was working to complete! Great work, highly recommended."

"Highly recommend Pinehurst Turf Pros. They were great to work with and communicated throughout the entire process. They do meticulous work and took their time to make our project look great. Along with the great job of installing our turf, they did an outstanding job of cleaning up after the work was done and I truly appreciated the effort make things like they were before they arrived. Great people to work with and they were also great with letting our dogs join them at times so they could use the backyard. Quality work at a reasonable and fair price."

"They went the extra mile to customize the landscape (Graded) the yard and it insured the Fence was straight and much better looking than what other fence builders would have done, at no extra cost. The Fence-landspace came out excellent! Lester and his son were excellent to work with and courteous and punctual, Really Professional!. They also ensured to fix anything that worped down the road. Im glad I found them and will always recommend."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Late August, September, and mid-October are the ideal months for planting a young tree. However, the best time to plant a tree ultimately depends on when the weather transitions to fall-like conditions and eventually winter frost. As long as the hottest days of summer have passed and the ground hasn’t frozen yet, you can still successfully plant trees.

The soil around your foundation should slope down and away from your home, not toward it. If the grading drops the farther you are from your home, you can enhance the slope by removing more soil. Mark off a few feet from your house and dig up some of this soil. Regrading around your fountain should encourage water to flow away from your home and not collect or “pond.”

Yes, weeds can still grow in decomposed granite. If properly compacted, it can act as a good weed suppressant, meaning you’ll only pull weeds occasionally. But no ground cover is completely weed-proof. To further prevent weeds, you can try spraying your decomposed granite with distilled white vinegar.

It’s usually best to buy plants from a local greenhouse or nursery yourself, but landscapers are also a reliable option. First, you can choose exactly what plants you want based on their appearance rather than relying on your landscaper to choose. Additionally, while it’s more time-consuming to go buy the plants yourself, you’ll often save money because landscapers charge for delivery and may upcharge the plants. You can also speak to a professional at a nursery to ensure you understand how to care for your plants and get the most long-term value.

There are two main times of year to apply mulch: mid to late spring and late fall. Spreading mulch in mid to late spring helps protect new seedlings as the soil warms up. It's best to wait until temperatures are steady, as mulching too early in the spring can slow down the soil's warming process and hinder plant growth. Fall mulching is also beneficial, as it insulates the soil and helps regulate its temperature when the first frosts arrive.
