"On Wednesday, April 9,2025, I urgently needed service to get 2 shrubs trimmed at my home. I called several landscaping services who were a Big disappointment. I was hoping they would accept my offer to do the job. Well, they selfishly declined my offer wanting more money (which was explicitly evident in their demeanor displayed in their unfavorable disposition )only for their personal gain and not putting the customers first. Businesses like these are unappealing and cause others not wanting your business-just saying! There is light at the end of the tunnel because Mr. Tim who owns God’s Gardner immediately reached out to me in a professional and kind manner and accepted my offer to trim my (2) shrubs. He was very attentive, patient, friendly, an active listener and attentive to every detail on how I wanted the shrubs to be trimmed. Actually, I welcomed his suggestions for a better way to trim the shrubs with this being his expertise in the landscaping care business. Michelle"

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

All herbicides come with risks, but you can control and mitigate risks by discussing your options with your weed service company before application. Some companies use milder or sustainable herbicides more times per season to control weeds rather than one to two herbicide sprayings annually. You can also ask your professional about pet-friendly and kid-friendly services. In most cases, though, you can wait a few days after the application for the herbicides to soak into the ground, at that point they shouldn’t pose a risk to you or your family.

Like sugar, the common household staple baking soda has uses in the yard. Baking soda boosts your plants to resist pests, fungal growth, and more. So, baking soda is good for your plants in certain instances, but exercise caution, as using too much could kill your plants. It’s great for hunting for pesky weeds, but not great for tending to a sensitive garden.

Each type of weed comes with its own control methods, but stopping the seed spread is the first step. Grazing, mowing, and hand pulling can slow the invasion. In some cases, selective herbicide is necessary to stop a persistent weed from overtaking an area.

Technically, dandelions aren’t bad for your lawn, and they don’t directly kill grass. In fact, they appear in areas that are nutrient-deprived, and their long taproots can loosen the soil and bring nutrients closer to the surface.

However, dandelions do spread quickly, and they can take over your lawn, eventually crowding out grass. This is why a healthy lawn is the best defense against dandelions.

It’s best to pull weeds when the soil is wet, as it’s much easier. Wet soil is much softer than dry soil, making it easier to pull the entire weed up by the root. Also, since the soil is wet, the roots will let go of the soil and slide up with less resistance. Be careful when working on your wet garden, though, as wet soil is easier to compact, which can harm your plants.
