"The contracted the work off to a third party. Jon took longer than expected. The windows was installed pretty good from the looks. Communication could have been better with knowing the job will take longer and what types of trims I wanted for the windows. As the contractor that was hired for this job by this company. Did a good job with putting up decent trim. As for the new windows they look great. I purchased the myself and hired sentri homes to install them. I will need to have a my siding on my house redone to be closer to the new windows so the gaps are not so obvious. That was not expected at first. But from old storm windows and not knowing how they were put in originally. There was some unknown things that was learned from the job being completed. I will have the siding of the house slightly done to match really good for what I wanted later on. My only concern is better communication with sentri homes. Overall they were great when I did talk to them."

"This post is being shared as a mode of recommending. Perfection Roofing and Home Repairs. As a general contractors, they were great coordinator and communicators, even taking great pride in making sure we were apprised of all decisions. We were surprised to learn their estimates were even cheaper than we had expected. The project cost, 22K was 5K less than another reputable competitor.Senior citizens approach projects carefully, especially when new faces are involved. We felt comfortable at all times. A humanitarian side story involved how they took great care not to upset our aged dog."

"Absolutely no complaints here. The guys showed up every day and cleaned up at the end of the day. All the old material was hauled away. These guys do excellent work and follow through with commitments. We are remodeling our townhouse. I found a couple of other projects I needed done while they were on site. I'm having JH repair a rotted window sill on the second floor and replace the French door in the dining area due to rot next week. I highly recommend them."

Storm Shelters questions, answered by experts

The time it takes to build a cinder block storm shelter depends on various factors, such as size, complexity, and weather conditions. Generally, construction can take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months. Proper planning, obtaining permits, hiccups in the building process, and finishing touches all contribute to the timeline.

While it may require some patience, the end result will be a reliable and secure shelter ready to protect you and your loved ones during severe weather events.

Your chicken coop needs to be off the ground to protect your chickens and avoid problems brought on by flooding, mud, and moisture. If you can't locate a high area to build the coop, you should build an elevated coop to ensure it stays dry.

Renting a storage unit is less expensive than renting a moving pod. On average, renting and shipping a moving pod costs $3,000, while a storage unit costs between $75 and $200 per month. Storage units also tend to provide more space, increasing their cost-effectiveness. The only instance in which storage units are more expensive than moving pods is if you need to rent the unit for an extended period of time.

The timeline to build your barn will depend on the barn type and the company you hire. A pole barn may take six weeks or so, while a traditionally framed or steel-framed barn can take four months or longer. Building a barndominium takes the longest because you are essentially building a new home. You can expect barndominiums to take six months or longer to build.

Pole barns and carports are similar in that they rely on posts for support and are often not connected to a primary structure. The main difference between the two is that pole barns usually include walls that surround the entire perimeter of the structure, while carports generally remain open on three or four sides. It’s possible to insulate garage doors and even exterior walls on pole barns to create a comfortable workspace, and it’s a bit more secure for storage purposes. However, carports are more affordable.
