"Needed fencing installed to keep groundhogs from taking up residence under our deck. Brady came up with a creative and complete solution that made sure the varmints were out and would not return. Would use again."

"We had needed our porch replaced for a couple years now. I have been searching for a Handy Man to replaced the porch. I put out a request on Angi and received a couple hits. I received a text from Jay immediately. He offered to come out and take a look at or porch. Jay arrived and we looked at what I wanted done. I asked for an estimate and received it the next day. I thought it was a fair price and I hired Jay. Our project was done in about 5 hours. The porch looks great and the area was cleaned up after the completion of the porch. I would hire him again for other projects around the home. Give him a call, you won’t be disappointed."

"Dreamscape Landscaping answered the very same day that I made the request on the Service magic website. Bert Horne listened to our requirements for a deck behind our porch, answered all of our questions, and even offered to use part of the material already ordered for the job. He quoted a reasonable cost, and we agreed to it. The next day the deck was completed to our satisfaction, and he returned once more later in the week, to make sure everything was OK. I plan to call Dreamscape when I have future garden work."

Holiday Decorating FAQs, answered by experts

It’s not a good idea to mix LED and incandescent Christmas lights if you can avoid it. LEDs and incandescents can have significantly different electrical current needs. This difference can lead to a higher risk of problems and failure for both light strands. When possible, switch all your lights over to one kind or the other for the best results. Do not connect the different types of light strings to each other, and avoid linking them to the same circuit.

There aren’t many alternative methods to hanging Christmas lights on fascia without using clips. But if you don’t have fascia clips to hang your Christmas lights, you can use clothespins in a pinch. To do this, hold the strand of lights in place and clip it in place with the clothespin. Using nails or staples is never a good idea, as they can damage your fascia.

Technically, you can use duct tape to hang Christmas lights, but it’s not the best bet. Duct tape or other types of tape retain moisture, which isn’t ideal when near an electrical wire. Plus, it can peel off due to the elements. Duct tape is also a very unattractive option, visually speaking. Instead, opt for roof clips for Christmas lights, which are affordable and easy to use.

Yes, you can hang Christmas lights from the soffit of your roof, but it requires a bit more effort than hanging from the gutters or eaves. You’ll need to add an adhesive hook or tie to the underside of the soffit to keep the lights in place. Consider adding a soffit hook every 12 to 18 inches for best visual results.

Yes, you must use an extension cord specifically rated for outdoor use to power outdoor lights, such as Christmas lights. Extension cords intended for indoor use lack the protective properties to withstand exposure to outdoor elements. To safely hang and power lights outside your house or in your yard, always connect them to an outdoor power source using an outdoor-rated extension cord.
