"Our experience with Cruz Home painting couldn’t have been better. Jesus Cruz was prompt, and pleasant to work with every step of the way. He provided a detailed job description at the outset, and went out of his way to provide stain samples and advice before starting the work. He is a perfectionist, and paid attention to the smallest details along the way. We will definitely hire him again for our next project."

"Our home has an open floor plan with the living room, dining room, and kitchen being visible upon entry from the front door. The ceiling in these rooms is vaulted, and the ceiling tape was cracking and falling down in some areas. It looked horrible!!!! We called a number of painters who came out to give estimates, but we knew David Silva was the right person for us the first time we met him. He is a very nice man and was very patient and willing to listen to us and to work with us. That is not easy to find nowadays. He knew exactly what needed to be done and did it in a very professional, friendly, and caring way. He even did an area we did not ask him to do. Thank you, David!!! On the first and second days of the job, David sent a very skilled worker to replace the ceiling tape. He was doing a huge area, and he did it expertly. David would come at the end of each of the two days the ceiling tape was being done to check it. The actual painting of this large area, including the crown moulding, floor boards, and the fireplace, was done the third day along with the shutters outside the house and the front door leading into the house. David and his team did an outstanding job!!! We could not be more pleased, and we are so thankful we chose Silva's Painting. David even put plastic all over the floors, cabinets, and other exposed areas to keep them from getting dusty from any sanding that needed to be done and to keep them free from stray paint. We have not seen that with any other painter. There was nothing to clean up after the job was done, and that is a huge plus for any homeowner. We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Silva's Painting. There is no doubt that we will be calling them for all our painting needs!!! The Knochs"

Small jobs welcome

"Israel was very professional and communicative. He got in touch with me right away and came out to do an estimate before the job. He was very thorough and discussed everything with me. He quickly got back to me with a very fair and affordable quote as well. The job was done in a timely manner and I am very happy with the outcome. I would highly recommend him."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Liquid rubber is great for waterproofing, but it can damage your deck if it’s not applied correctly. First, it can trap moisture in the wood if the deck isn’t completely dry before application.  Second, applying it too thickly can create a heavy, rubbery surface layer that peels and cracks under fluctuating temperatures. For the best results, ensure the wood is completely dry before application, and apply the liquid rubber in thin, even coats. A quick inspection every now and then will help you catch any issues early, keeping your deck protected and looking its best.

Constant exposure to inclement weather conditions can damage your deck, causing it to fade, warp, or crack over time. Regular maintenance keeps it looking and performing its best. That means giving it a good cleaning and applying a quality sealant or wood treatment to help defend against moisture, sun damage, and everyday wear.

You should seal your deck every one to two years, but you’ll also need to clean and repair your wood deck throughout the seasons. You may want to hire a local house cleaning service to sweep and clean the deck thoroughly. These cleaning services cost around $50 per hour.

Inspect your deck at least once a year, and if you notice any damage or rot, expect to spend about $10 to $50 for simple DIY fixes or about $2,000 for professional repairs on more extensive damage.

Ultimately, overapplication of stain can compromise the deck's appearance, durability, and longevity. It may result in an uneven finish, with excess stain pooling, dripping, or drying into thick patches. It can also obscure the wood's natural grain and texture, detracting from the desired aesthetic. Moreover, excessive staining may not fully penetrate the wood, leading to poor adhesion and premature wear. Additionally, thick layers of stain are prone to peeling, cracking, and blistering as they struggle to bond with the surface.

Yes, many repair services include repainting to match the color of the existing siding or walls. Most professionals offer this service to ensure the repaired area blends in seamlessly.
